Why is it that the progressive scum always has some excuse when an election was lost? The voters are stupid. The young voters did not turn out. The voters did not understand the issue. Pres. Obama didn't clearly explain his message. It is never the majority of the people did not like what we proposed and/or did.

Prop. 8 passed. You and I both would have voted against it if we resided in California. But, Prop. 8 passed.

It is always the youth leading the way. Just like in the U.S.A.

Great news tables I sleep though the good news. If only the American people were energetic to get much needed problems changed.

Because those excuses are true.

When it is a repressed majority under a dictator, then it is a good thing. And the military has stated that it will follow the will of the people, let's hope that's what happens. This is an uncertain time and much hangs in the balance. But this is the start of what could be a plural civil society in Egypt. And maybe the start of it in other places as well. This is a big deal, and so far a good thing. I'm hoping for the best.

There will be an election in the next 60 days because the Egyptian version of the constitution states that. I hear the U.S. is going to help set it up. I also wonder what till happen to the $70 billion dollars (1.3 billion each year) we been giving Hosni Mubarak over the all these years. I bet he's trying to steal it.

Would you like to place a wager on whether there will be an election in Egypt by April 11, 2011?

While you may be too fucking dense to understand, President Obama does (as he rapidly tries to save his ass by shifting to the center).

If it is true that the progressive side would have won had everyone voted, than what you are really saying is that progressive voters are too lazy and ignorant to go vote.

I would think "we didn't win on this issue" is better than "our people are too lazy and stupid to go vote."

You remind me of fxashun. Part of your last last statement is true, people were too lazy and stupid to go vote. Allot have to do with people belief that Obama wasn't liberal enough and or thought he pandered too much with the republicans. Another part of it is that Obama had a terrible P.R. machine in getting what he has done that help Americans and the American economy heard and acknowledged. The so called media didn't help so you were right leighredf in one of your posts about how the media on the T.V. is not reporting news. When the important issues are talked about one by one by one by one leighredf, MOST people agree with progressives like myself issues like taxes, healthcare, trade, and banks reform, (and etc.) all weren't progressive enough.

Just think for a second, It's not like democrats voted republican.

Looks like a good bet for me. From the AP:

The military has also asked the current government, appointed by Mubarak, to continue operating until a new one is formed. It also says it is committed to eventually handing over power to an elected administration.

Saturday's military statement is its first indication of the next steps after Mubarak's fall, but left unanswered the question of how long the current government would stay in place.
