What makes . . .

Obama and Cameron think they'll be able to find 300 girls in Nigeria - and that's if they're in Nigeria? They could be anywhere; and they might be in 300 different places in Nigeria if they've been sold.

why did it take WEEKS for this to become news? my theory is the media didnt know how to report it. there is no way you can report on this without making it clear boko haram are muslim and that they justify their atrocities with islam. how do you report the religion of peace doing this?

i have very little hope for those poor children. i have some, but given the speed of the response, the intensity of the search, it just seems nobody really cares. getting the children back is going to involve a gunfight to the death with boko haram, and nobody has the will to do that.

My opinion is that Nigeria is playing the US like a fiddle wanting a handout. Yes I saw the alleged video of the kidnapped girls, but they could have gotten any group of girls to put on hijab and looked frightened. Part of me thinks this whole incident is just Anti-Muslim propaganda, which I have enough of in my post 9/11 public school education to last me a life time!

one doesnt need to fake anything to find atrocities in the name of islam.

That precisely illustrates the subtle point in my OP. Why can't our 'leaders' understand that too?

any public attempt to find and rescue those girls is a huge mistake. anything should be done on the qt, if anything can be done. public discussion of military options by people in office (eg: mccain) is a stupid mistake.
