The USA banned slavery within a single lifetime! And, it turns out the slaves were over-employed. Now we pay their descendants just for breathing.

Slavery in America started because black African slave traders sold slaves to white traders. Slavery in Africa continued many generations after American slavery ended. And, without efforts of whites, black on black slavery would still be standard throughout Africa.

Stick to crying racism to get Liberals to shield you from truth the way a mother shields a young, disabled child from criticism.

Yes, yes, those black Africa slave traders forced slavery upon 17th-century white Christians, and that coercion, and for no other reason, is why slavery started in America: Americans' practicing slavery was the blacks' fault. Yes, of course it was. And yes, whites saved generations of African blacks from slavery.

I'll cry racism whenever I see it. I don't need anyone to shield me from the truth. The truth is: You're a racist. Be proud of what you are, or change your ways, but don't deny the truth to get other racists to shield you from truth the way a mother shields a young, disabled child from criticism.

Help! Something that none of us lived through is affecting our economy today! Augh!

I mean hell, even WWII doesn't affect anything today.

IMO: There is a self-imposed apartheid now that slavery has ended. People like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the new plantation house masters. The Democrat Party has stepped away from overtly murdering blacks...stepped past and through the KKK (where they co-hosted a DNC)...and now just use welfare rorts and "free stuff" to compromise their constituents. It's the carrot, now...not the stick. The Democrat mascot...the donkey...is an appropriate avatar. Imagine what President Al Sharpton would do for his people....

So that justifies white British colonials and later Americans buying and owning other human beings as if they were livestock? As a supposedly civilized people, the Anglo-Americans should of abolished slavery on July 4th, 1776 when it was declared that all men were created equal.

When that Dutch slave ship showed up on the James River in 1619, the good Christian colonists should of told these merchants - "No thanks."

I know a lot about geography and can list all the African countries drunk as a gord (not capitals but know a lot of them too!), but I know very little about Africa before I went there, and I did not like my wife there.

Went to Lusaka Zambia. By and large had a good time. The country from what I saw seemed to be fairly well ran and organized. Parts of Lusaka was pretty cool and even better in some ways to where I live in China. More Americanized shopping malls, a casino, lots of western food stuffs. I went from Lusaka to the Victoria Falls which took about seven hours by bus and while I did see poor people, I just did not see really shocking poverty.

One thing I did notice was a lot of walled properties, and the cops one did see wore Camoflage and carried some kind of military grade rifle. To the mall, where the middle and upper class shopped. Seemed a bit of an overkill, maybe just to scare the bad guys from those places. AIDS was a big thing there, with lots of advertisements from the government to know one's HIV status and all that. All in all, if I had a decent job, and a nice house, I could live in Lusaka. Would be more bored there than anything.

The Zambians I met were proud that they were relatively peaceful, unlike a lot of other African nations. Makes me wonder how many other African nations are peaceful, moving along at a pace, out of Civil wars and the different tribes and groups fighting one another or under the rule of a nutty, greedy dictator.

I have read that Botswana, which is the south of Zambia is peaceful with a decent government. Some of the Chinese friends in Africa said that Malawi was a beautiful, safe country. Other places, seem to be under the par of where I would want to visit or live.

I never thought until a few months ago that I would visit Africa, but the place, at least Zambia, really has had a lasting impact on me. So, which African nations have been a success, and where, like Zambia, is mostly safe for travel.
That is refreshing to hear. I bet they have a corrupt government though.
