Oh I think I understand what you are saying. Instead of giving money, just quit taking it in the first place. Yeah I tend to favor tax incentives more so than pay out subsidies when it comes to government matters.

TN is able to fund the state with a 7.5 cent sales tax (locals can add 2 cents for local communities to the sales tax) a state income tax in TN is unconstitutional. The State cannot levy a state property tax either.

The Citizens have to vote on an increase in the sales tax.
A sales tax would be fine as long as we exempt food and possibly basic clothing. Without this exemption the lower wage earner pays a disproportionate amount of their income in taxes. Sadly we don't exempt or reduce it here in TN.

I have no problem with that an 11% consumption tax would fund current revenue collection for the government at 2008 level of spending. (actually I think it would be lower because I think the economy would expand massively)
11% would be if the economy did not change with the change in tax structure.

We do here, but trust me they make up for it other places. In Dominic Frisbys book "life after state" he has a chapter on property tax being the most fair(if applied correctly) form of tax. It makes a lot of sense.

It does not matter to me either way.. even if on food I think it is better than an income tax.

Income tax, FICA, SS all gang mentality theft.

Coercion /koʊˈɜrʃən/ is the practice of forcing another party to act in an involuntary manner by use of intimidation or threats or some other form of pressure or force, and describes a set of various different similar types of forceful actions that violate the free will of an individual to induce a desired response. These actions can include, but are not limited to, extortion, blackmail, torture, and threats to induce favors. In law, coercion is codified as a duress crime. Such actions are used as leverage, to force the victim to act in a way contrary to their own interests. Coercion may involve the actual infliction of physical pain/injury or psychological harm in order to enhance the credibility of a threat. The threat of further harm may lead to the cooperation or obedience of the person being coerced.[citation needed]

A sales tax is only supported by uneducated dopes. Raise Capital Gains to the same level as tax on incomes.

raising capital gains taxes has been tried many times. it always has the same result, the economy slows, people are put out of work, government revenues collected go down.

time to try other things.
