That trying to correlate wealth from the 1700s and 1800s and even more recently to the present day just doesn't work.

No, that means the Democratic Party is not Anti-Capitalists as the Right wing narrative will have you believe. All those Democrats also were interested in balancing progress and environmental issues. Go figure......LOL

That is true, But wealth is wealth.

Why are many people poor today,

Because they have been made COMFORTABLE in their poverty.

Quote:
I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.
― Benjamin Franklin

It doesn't suggest anything...it factually shows the Democrats have always been the rich party...even today.

The democratic party want people to be comfortable in their poverty...so they will vote for Democrats...who have duped them into thinking they care about the poor. They just want power.
