Are we passing it on ?

Will we leave America better off for our children after we are gone?

Here is an example of what a history teacher did to teach her students about freedom.

as of right now I'd say no, we are not making the country better for our children. hopefully we can get a real president who really cares about this country that can make it better. it's going to take some time to fix Obama's mess..

I don't think its in the hands of just the President. Certainly his leadership..or lack thereof makes a difference to the country... it has to come from the root....and sorry to keep saying this but its God. And the struggle today is primarily between biblical Christians and secular humanistic world views. IMO secular humanisms hatred for Jesus Christ is destroying our culture..especially the family. Destroying churches, religious freedom, Jesus Christ is their goal. It has been happening for a long time and will continue to happen.

It always has been that parents were the most influential force in raising children. Now the government tells us that we don't know how to do it...not even feed our kids, so says Michelle Obama. One does not need a village to raise a child. We certainly do not need government intervention.

Can you imagine what our grandchildren might see in 75 years.

I see a future like that book...A Brave New World.

People who are lifeless, passive, emotionless about everything...subject to a ruling class who condition people to obey. No morality.

Sounds like whats happening today and this administration.

And there's the problem. You think it started with THIS administration.

We have exactly the government, and the country, the CORPORATIONS want us to have. We don't live in a democracy, or even a republic any more. Haven't for quite some time. Eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex. What he didn't envision was that it wouldn't be limited to just the MID. It's not about right or wrong, liberal versus conservative, religious versus humanist, it's about corporate profit.

I'm not against corporations, they are one of the primary drivers of our economy. However every major company in the country has spent the last several decades downsizing, off shoring and outsourcing. They have maximized profits, while at the same time returned less and less to the very economy that supports them. Neither through payroll nor taxes.

They want us poor, ignorant and dependent. Either on the government or the meager jobs they offer. They don't want the minimum wage raised. They don't want the illegal immigrant issue solved. They absolutely hate unions. God forbid they pay a living wage. The people available for work, the lower the wages will be. Then to combat the anger and depression they feed us a steady diet of pharmaceuticals to kill our emotions. I forget not but 1 in 3 kids is on some sort of ADD med. 1 in 5 adults are either on, have been or will be on some sort anti-depressant ??

Corporations poured $3.5 Billion dollars into the 2012 elections. They are expected to spend more than $4 Billion in 2016. That's $13 for every single man, woman and child in the nation.

We are headed for a brave new world, or Orwell's 1984,but it didn't start last year or even last decade. It started before I was born and will continue long after I'm dead gone.

You want to see where we're headed, watch the movie "Elysium". All that lives on the surface of the planet are worker drones while the ruling elite live in a luxurious space station.

We never have, the American Revolution was lead by the wealthiest men in America, it wasn't for freedom, they owned slaves and continued to own slaves,
it was so they wouldn't have to pay taxes to the King.
We have exactly the government the constitution provides for, the constitution is the rules and the rules determine how the game is played.
It takes a big political upheaval to amend the constitution, and we aren't there yet. But given the demographics and the economic trends, we could see a populist revolt, by political means in a few decades.
