Morally Reprehensible

Quote:
Mercy Hospital in Independence, KS will be closed by this weekend. It had seventy-five beds, and saw up to 250 emergency cases each year. There are two other hospitals within a half hour drive of Independence. The hospital had been there since 1910.

Its closing, by all accounts, would not have been prevented if Governor Brownback had expanded Medicaid and accepted millions of dollars from the Federal Government. But it might have extended its life, and given its owners a chance to try other procedures to save it.

Regardless, this hospital’s closing has ignited a conversation across Kansas about medical care that has culminated this week in an email from the Governor’s office (meant for their supporters) that had the audacity to call Medicaid expansion “morally reprehensible.”

We have some thoughts about what is morally reprehensible.

What is becoming clear to citizens in states being run by trickle down economics crusaders, is the total failure of the policy, that after decades of being a proven failure, is still being pushed at the detriment of the citizens.

Here is another example of why no matter which states this failed policy is still being implemented ends in the same disastrous results.

This is what your state on Republicanism looks like

The hospital is closing for several reasons, and one reason is Obamcare cut reimbursement to hospitals.

It is indeed proving to be the downfall of many programs for Americans.

More Than 100 Kansas Republicans Endorse Democratic Candidate for Governor

Quote:
More than 100 former and current Republican officials announced their support for the candidate at an event in Topeka on Tuesday, citing frustration with Gov. Sam Brownback's policies.

The list includes three former Senate presidents, such as Steve Morris, who was ousted from office in the 2012 Republican primaries when conservatives swept out moderate incumbents to take control of the Senate.

The newly formed Republicans for Kansas Values would like to return the favor and oust Brownback, announcing its endorsement of Davis, the House minority leader, at the Ramada Topeka Downtown Hotel and Convention.

"The guy that organized this group is Sam Brownback. He's the recruiter. He's the reason we're here," said Dick Bond, a former Senate president who also was on the Board of Regents.

"And every day he's going to be adding to our number," Bond said. "As he said just very recently, he's going to 'double down' on the tax cuts. He brings in an extremist like Rick Santorum to Kansas, who is as far right as you can get. And Kansas has not had that kind of tradition. We value higher education. We value K-12. And we're abandoning that in the name of some kind of extreme policy."
When elected REPUBLICAN officials back the DEMOCRATIC candidate for governor, you know they've soured on teabaggers.

You can't defend the indefensible.

Even the citizens of red states are not going to continue watching their infrastructure deteriorate, just to appease the hardliners of the Republican party, and their hatred of a President, who only has one more year in office.

The painfully obvious eventually wins out over the painfully ignorant.

Absolutely true. when your legislation starts to hurt the constituents, they know better than to put you back in office.

A landslide? LMFAO.

“It’s tough to get re-elected governor,” Gov. Sam Brownback told the Lawrence Journal-World. “For Republican governors, I’m only the second in 50 years re-elected.

Bill Graves was the first.” Unlike Graves, who won a landslide re-election, Brownback came from behind in the polls to win by 4 percent, earning just shy of 50 percent of the vote.

The close election didn’t chasten Brownback. “We’re going to continue to do and push the things that we did,” he said. Big policy reforms that Brownback wants to pursue include overhauling the school finance formula and continuing to work on a 50-year water strategy for the state. – Phillip Brownlee

Yeah, eeking out a win by 4%, and not even getting 50% of the vote.

That's a landslide in your world view?

I'm sayin', there has been a whole lot of this fantasy-history stuff being thrown up around here. It is just insane.
