One Word Response To Why Millennials Want Democratic Socialism

To be fair, I'm picking on Mz. Mayer a lot because this is very recent news.
It is with this in mind that I relate to you an exchange I had with a co-worker of mine. He was having a complete meltdown over his child being a Bernie booster.

He was worried that it was more than teenage rebellion. He told me that he thought his kid might really be a Socialist. (I really didnít want to get into a discussion on the difference between Democratic Socialism and Marxist Socialism.) He was horrified. Who would ever want that?

There is certainly no shortage of examples of incompetent executives that I could use. The point Iím making is that the worst form of socialism already exists in our nation, and itís the rightwing who fiercely defends it. I donít recall any teabaggers protesting George W. Bush and the republicans when they bailed out Wall Street in 2008 to the tune of 700 billion dollars, but give a little help to the victims of Wall Streetóor give a poor man healthcare--- and hooo-boy!

I told my good friend if he hates socialism so much, he should join his son. In our current plutocracy, itís socialism for the 1%, and cut-throat capitalism for him and everyone else. Democratic Socialism, however, works within a capitalist structure: it just means that everyone should be playing by the same rules. This is what his kid is fighting for in this election, and I only wish more people would follow his lead.

The one-word response to "Why Do Millennials Want Democratic Socialism?"

I even watched the video on Daily KOS explaining the difference!! I love it, the first minute he says "Communism is not Socialism. Communism is extreme Socialism". LMAO you cant make that up. Yeah its not socialism its just more socialism. Totally different hahahahaa. Another Socialist making up stuff. Another Socialist who claims its ok if your rights are trampled as long as mob rule votes on it. Another Socialist claiming that government services are Democrat Socialism, even though the people never voted on any of those programs, instead elected representatives did. But, lets not get into a big debate again. Lets just call it what it is..

You can call it what you want.

The Millennials will be calling it the norm in another 20 years.

The OP explained very well why Bernie Sanders has the support he does, and why that ignorant rightwinger father in the defense industry just doesn't get it.

Well, his son, and the rest of the Millennial Sanders supporters don't care, that he, or you for that matter, don't get it.

They do, and they will be the majority of voters in just a few more years.

No, the op explained his opinion. The millennials love Bernie because he is the supreme carnival barker. He jumps up an down and screams out free stuff free stuff to a select group. Then he demonizes the upper middle class and wealthy and says they will pay for it. But to you, its free. You better hope you can keep the millennials from growing up is all I can say.

MANY conservatives decried that crap. Interesting, skews did you protest the 85 BILLION a month for SEVEN years that Obama gave away to Wall St? I'm betting you never said a word.

Actually I did.

I also decried Bill Clinton Signing the repeal of the Glass-Stegall Act.

I am more than suspicious of Hillary Clinton's relationships she has on Wall St.

Which is why I am a Bernie supporter.

But if push comes to shove, I'll support Clinton over a Republican.

If nothing else but for judicial appointments that will keep rightwingers in check long after she's gone, until we can actually get a Bernie Sanders type in office.

Something about the 110th Congress controlled by Democrats (two Independents in the Senate voting with the Democrats) seems to be in the back of my mind. And I was no GW supporter, and never voted for him.
