I never met anyone with a brain who had a problem with a few dollars deducted from their pay each week to guarantee a secure future. What people are pissed about is politicians dipping in to that money to fund useless projects. Again, this is just the right wing way of helping the rich screw the middle class. RESIST!!!

You can add to that, the number of people on SS who have never paid a dime into it. SS was originally set up to subsidize people who were retiring. That's were it should have stayed.

Eliminate SS but give me a tax free lump sum payment for every penny I put in adjusted for inflation. That would be a fat check and put me on a shopping spree keeping Americans gainfully employed. Win Win situation all the way around.

You loved it when Obama cut social security taxes and pushed SS into the red, it has been the red ever since.

A few dollars a week? It costs me $20k a year.

Politicians have been dipping into the SS fund long before Obama.
If you are paying 20K a year into SS you are making enough to afford it, quit bitching and stop being so greedy. Or you might just be the typical right wing liar and giving us an "alternative fact".
A person who made $118,500.00 pays $7,347.00 in SS tax, you are either rolling in money or a liar.
"Only the first $118,500 of this person's earnings is subject to the 6.2% tax. So, $7,347 of this worker's income is paid as Social Security tax, making the effective Social Security tax rate just 2.9%.
Based on a 52 week work year you paid $384.62 per week in SS tax. Care to explain how you did that?
