Trump administration plans to challenge climate science

I'm amazed this wasn't already posted.

Particularly disturbing to me is the terminology they have chosen to use, specifically "debates between scientists on climate research, known as red-team, blue-team exercises" I'm sure it is totally a coincidence that red and blue are the colors of the two political parties and has nothing to do with the administration intentionally politicizing the process rather than keeping it on a scientific level. (Where's that damned sarcasm icon?)

Groups look to reverse scientific findings underlying U.S. regulations on greenhouse gas emissions

The Trump administration will soon begin a review that will question the veracity of the climate change science used by President Barack Obama's administration as the basis for environmental regulations.

The move by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to launch public debates between scientists on climate research, known as red-team, blue-team exercises, would be the first major effort by the Republican administration to challenge the long-standing scientific consensus on human-caused climate change.

Advocates who have petitioned the EPA to reverse the scientific finding underlying U.S. regulations governing greenhouse gas emissions see the proposal to scrutinize mainstream climate science as a first step in that direction.

"It's a way to survey the landscape before reopening the endangerment finding," said Myron Ebell, head of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, one of the groups that filed a petition with the agency to undo the 2009 scientific determination that formed the basis for the Obama administration's regulation of greenhouse gases.

Yes all findings need to stand up to scrutiny. ALL!

East Anglia emails proved peer review is a lie.

Your posts on this subject show that you lie and you know nothing about science, and climate science in particular.

But on the bright side, here is a case where I agree this post is nothing but your opinion.

I want peer review from all disciplines of science. CERN did not use peer review and got egg on their face.

Oh, this is just a pathetic stalling tactic of the Rump Administration that is intended to create as much illusion of doubt in the public eye regarding the primary causes of climate change so that government inaction regarding trying to minimize said climate change seems reasonable to the public.

That is all this is, particularly since that Red Team vs. Blue Team debate regarding climate change has been going on now for many, many years.
