The economic devastation of the island is enormous, the electric grid needs to be rebuilt, surely the commonwealth will default on it's debt.
What should we do when a part of America is destroyed by a natural disaster?

The amount of aid that will be required over the coming years is enormous, will we supply it?

If we don't, there will be hundreds of thousands if not millions who come to the mainland, and they will be entitled to get welfare, they are Americans.

She is just playing for the press. Who the fuck is she trying to kid. She wants to lead? Then her ass should have been ordering any vehicle that she could to go to the ports. Start loading up on any non perishable goods you can out of those containers. Take the San Juan police with her to arrest any fucking official that tells her no. Begin organizing a civilian relief effort. Or you can wade around in the water with a fucking bull horn so everyone can say...look thats a leader..

Yes - she should be out playing golf like our focused and compassionate POTUS. It would be so much more of an example of a leading role.
Thanks from RNG and Camelot

I am glad you said that. Obama/golf/Benghazi. Trump/Golf/Puerto Rico.

An island of people who have has numerous chances to become independent and have chosen not to. Why?

The only thing that is embarrassing is the Lefts embarrassing attempts at making this political, when it's obviously about logistics. Was Trump suppose to go over there and personally hand out bottles of water? You people are unbelievably repugnant sheeple!

This is just another thread posted by the Kool-Aid drinkers of the media propaganda. I guess they expect President Trump to be God and immediately reverse any ill that befalls our Country; maybe he should have appeared in sack cloth and ashes bemoaning the injustice and cruelty of Mother Nature. You Trump haters, are hilarious.

Just an opinion: Puerto Rico can actually be considered a Third World country, and it is not socially or politically prepared to handle the disaster that has befallen it. Those who are in charge in Puerto Rico obviously had their own misplaced priorities and have stolen the moneys which were intended for infrastructure maintenance. The Democrats and Leftists are all too eager to place the blame for the lack of instant relief or the repair of hurricane damage on the person they hate most in this world - no matter how ridiculous this attempt is.
Thanks from Kelvin

Now a rep says it will require at least $85 billion. They better keep tight tabs on whatever monies are appropriated for PR, it is as corrupt as it gets.

Mostly because when they try to become independent, US troops shoot them.
