Just heartbreaking. I remember it well. It was the spring I was about to graduate from college. There had been some protesting on our college campus and we were scared to death after the Kent shooting. Then we saw the sign in the news:

They can't kill us all.

AND this is the message we took to our graduation ceremony and the same message that Black Lives Matter sends.
It also applies to issues like Trump firing all the FBI directors.

DEAR PREZ, YOU CAN'T fire them all.
Thanks from Athena

I lived 20 minutes from the Kent State campus. I was attending elementary school. I remember that May 4 for a number of reasons. The teachers assembled us on the front lawn that afternoon. I remember thinking that was odd because we would always go to the back of the school by the playground when we went outside. Never the front lawn before this day.

I also remember how the sun felt on my face that day. Every spring a day arrives where the sun feels so strong on your face that you have total confidence that the cold weather of winter and early spring is behind you. This was what that day in 1970 represented to me. Ironically, the weather here today is almost identical to that May 4 in 1970 - sunny, blue skies about 80 degrees.

The teachers assembled us to explain what had happened earlier that day at the nearest college campus to us. We were elementary students. We didn’t understand the war or the protest movement. I often wonder why the school thought it was their place to try to explain it as opposed to our parents.

Anyhow, during the decades that followed, I have had many family and friends attend Kent State. I have partied over the years there often. I remember one night 20 or so years ago in particular. We were doing massive bong hits at my friends rental house on campus and decided to visit the scene of the shooting at about 2:00 in the morning. I stood on the hill from which the Ohio Guardsmen shot down at the students. It was a totally surreal experience as I recall. The End.
Thanks from imaginethat, Athena and Clara007

Wasn't Kent State renamed just Kent for awhile?

Is there a memorial on that campus?

The girl crying out in the most famous picture wasn't a student, but a 14 year old runaway.

I have always known it as Kent State. It is located in the city of Kent, Ohio. Yes, there is a memorial on campus as well as markers for the 4 fallen dead. Yes, the iconic picture of the girl screaming is a 14 year old runaway that was following the protest movement. She went on to attend high school in Alabama I believe. Two of the four dead were students on their way to class who were not involved in the protests at all.

He has only fired the FBI Directors that Lied under oath (Committed a felony)

Remember McCabe has been referred for prosictuion by Obama's Inspectors General

Now that we Caught and Killed that Rabbit attempting to derail the thread.. lets get back to the topic of Kent State

The media blamed Nixon for the shootings, Nixon had nothing to do with the National Guard at Kent State, the STATE GOVERNMENT activated the Guard, (If they had been federalized they could not have been deployed at Kent state)
