This is obviously a parallel parody of another thread.
But to give some similar examples...

Bible endorsing slavery:
Ephesians 6
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.

Bible endorsing misogyny:
1 Corinthians 14
34 Women[f] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Bible commanding genocide:
"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you may nations...then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy." Deuteronomy 7:1-2, NIV.
"...do not leave alive anything that breaths. Completely destroy them...as the Lord your God has commanded you..." Deuteronomy 20:16, NIV. 1

with all respect, religion has no more place in law than does any fiction

i'd like to see religion down graded in our society to what gay in the army was, "don't ask don't tell"

Religion has about as much a place in politics as Santa Claus does, and for the same reason.

i was brought up catholic

as a catholic it was always an honor if the pastor or bishop came to your home for dinner

it conveyed social status as well

Now I have always viewed things different than most. I always thought this was the strangest thing as I have never been able to suspend disbelief. So for example, I can't watch movies. They mostly all seem so ridiculous.

So when I was young and at the table with such celebrities I was confused. I would think, "this man believes in magic, never marries and has never had sex with a women!" Yet, people want his attention and to be near.

I would think, "if we strip away the cultural associations and I invited you to dinner and told you I had a special guest also coming who believes in magic, has never had sex and has never been with a women, you would decline and think both he and I were nuts."

I see most the world void of cultural context. A very strange world I normally see.

I don't know any Christians who believe in magic. In fact, magical arts are forbidden practice in Christianity as well as Judaism. It might benefit you some to actually study what Christians believe before arriving to such a derogatory view on all things Christian. If you don't believe then you don't believe...that's your problem, not mine. So don't make it my problem. If you desire so much a 'Don ask don't tell' status on Christians here in America then that also means you want to overthrow the entire Constitution. Fine. I hope you are a trained combat soldier because you're gonna have to fight for that one! Just saying.

There aren't any Americans gonna allow the left to trample on their rights. If you want to engage in a civil war than prepare yourself for a huge disappointment because you liberals don't stand a remote chance in hell in winning such a confrontation. We conservatives make up 75% of the U.S. Military; all the top Generals are Republican; all the weapons factories are conservative owned; almost all conservative citizens are well armed; you have no stinger missiles to repel air attacks; and you would be up against:

1 - The entire U.S. Militia (some now have tanks and planes).
2 - Every gun owner in America who defends gun rights
3 - At least 75% of the entire U.S. Military.
4 - The majority of physically fit men are conservative.

Is that what you want? Wouldn't it be better just to live your life as an atheist without being so bitter as to want to bring everybody down to your level of bitterness? You need to do some serious soul searching because your quest to start a civil war is suicide and very stupid to the highest degree of stupidity.

Most of you liberals would surrender in the first week of warfare. Others would defect and flee to Canada. Once you see a bunch of physically fit well trained men not afraid to run into you bullets you will see the most unpleasant reality. War is not a game. People die in war, and often brutally. Not all deaths are quick and many bleed to death, while others suffer in complete agony before they finally die. You are out gunned, out planed, and out manned. You say you believe in tolerance then practice it! For right now you liberals are the most radically intolerant people on the entire planet! You're over-the-top insane. This probably has a lot to do with all the pot you liberals smoke which causes bipolar behavior. So much for pot and peace, right?

ALL christians believe in magic, you imbecile. Moses did magic tricks. Jesus did magic tricks. Just because you don't call it "magic" doesn't mean it's not magic.

Interesting that a good "christian" like you also falls back on threats, dreaming of a civil war where you can slaughter the "liberals". LOL, what a pathetic phony POS you are.

You are the perfect example of phony that is driving people away from Christianity (the real version, which you abhor, and you are even driving them away from the fake version practiced by yourself and the GOP).

I especially thought this "list" was hilarious.

1 - The entire U.S. Militia (some now have tanks and planes).
2 - Every gun owner in America who defends gun rights
3 - At least 75% of the entire U.S. Military.
4 - The majority of physically fit men are conservative.

LOL. I think you need mental care.
Thanks from noonereal

For somebody that claims to be a historian you sure seem mightily uninformed about your own supposed religion. The early church was fragmented with multiple groups each having their own version of the Jesus story. And each having their own collections of stories some of which would eventually become the bible.

At the Nicene council THE biggest question that was debated for the better part of a month was over WHAT Jesus actually was.

Option A) He was a MAN, a prophet like Moses, inspired by or possibly in direct contact with God. But in the end, still JUST a man.

Option B) He was DIVINITY, literally the son of God, and therefore a God himself.

We all know what they DECIDED !!!! They also DECIDED on the date for Easter !!! So that was the first time it was edited !! By men with AGENDAS !!!!

You post as a real loose screw, a real wingnut.

2 things.

1) Catholics most certainly believe in magic. Every Sunday they confirm this when the priest turns bread into body and wine into blood. (as the show goes)

2) If Putin is successful and can have Trump cause another civil war, the economic power, as last time, would win again. The economic power is obviously in the blue states.

You silly liberal. All that goes back to the NT Lord's Supper which we are to do in remembrance of what Christ has done for us. Even though it is symbolically done, the ritual is meant to be taken literally, but more spiritually literal. Everybody knows we're not eating human flesh and drinking blood. It represents the price Christ paid for our sins and is the most sacred sacrament of the Christian faith. No magic there at all.

All the economic power is in the red states, moron! The blue states do not make jobs. All they produce is entertainment and you cannot fight wars with entertainers. But if you think the left can win a civil war be my quest. Just remember the winner takes all

Everything you think you know is true is a lie. I can prove everything from the Council of Nicaea from the Bible alone. Then I can go to my bookcases and dig out the earliest church fathers and prove every doctrine agreed upon by the Council of Nicaea. The vote wasn't even a close vote. I can't remember the total vote but I do have official records of all that.

Jesus was not just a Prophet. He is the Son of God...the word made flesh. Again, all this is in the Bible and held by the vast majority of early church fathers. The Council of Nicaea mainly dealt with the Gnostic heresies which would later influence a sick and demon possessed man named Muhammad, who was a sorcerer who learned Gnosticism in Mecca and in Syria where it was well know.

The Gnostics wrote these fake gospel accounts long after the Biblical Gospels were already written. The earliest Gnostic gospels appear in the 2nd century. Most of them written in the 3rd and 4th centuries and beyond. The Qur'an itself was a 7th century work by a Gnostic sorcerer. Gnosticism has always been the occult and today the Church of Satan just adores Gnosticism and teaches it.
