They've moved steadily further and further right. Those that have tried to keep the old flame alive are now called RINO and risk losing party support if they don't toe the party line. Today anyone to the left of Genghis Khan is a damned liberal socialist commie bastard !!!
This!

I voted for Ford, Ray-Gun, twice, Bush Sr, hated Buba and did not vote for him either time.... In the 2000 election, Bush embraced the hypocritical born again's. He paraded his family as the perfect family as his girls, yes girls, got carried out of parties. I would have none of it. I did not vote for JR.
In 2008 I was going to vote for McCain. But what happened? Palin. An imbecile. I thought I would never forgive John for that.

Anyway, point is, I am the same. Life long republican who was pushed from the party as so many were.

The party has ZERO conservative policies. Just drunken spending sailors and a racist, "I want to live in 1950" social agenda.

I still consider Bush Sr the best president of my lifetime. Could we ever use a man like him today.
Thanks from BubbaJones and RNG

Thank you. I so often felt like a voice in the wilderness in my accolades to Bush the Senior. I was so surprised and disappointed when he lost. Unlike most conservatives, I was impressed that when he took a serious look at the books he saw that despite his promise, it was necessary to raise taxes. I guess most weren't.

Unlike all the other phoney conservatives going back to Ray-Gun who just jacked up the deficit and debt.
Thanks from noonereal

To be fair to Ray-Gun, I think he really believed supply side. I know I did.

Live and learn, I should have know though, being a street wise New Yorker.

In retrospect, it's an obvious hustle. Cut how much you take in and you will have more. LOL, what a dope I was.

Bush Sr also knew how to run a war !!! Give the military a target, a goal, and leave it to the professionals on how to achieve it.

I knew we were fucked when his idiot son Dumbya started talking "limited war".

I liked the old man a lot.
Thanks from Hollywood and noonereal

Yep, Bush Sr. gave pretty clear orders. Throw their asses out of Kuwait and PUNISH their military all the way to the borders of their own country. Not just defeat them but punish them. Remember the "road a death?" A long line of burned out cars, trucks and military vehicles, nothing but death and destruction all along the road back to Iraq. He did not invade and occupy Iraq, left Huessain in power but spanked him HARD.
Thanks from RNG

I actually saw the road of death in person !!! I worked over there for a little over a year starting in late 91 after the war was over. At that point all they had done was take a dozer and shove the carnage off the road. It was all still there. Viewing the aftermath was scary. EVERYTHING had holes in it BIG FUCKNG HOLES. Even the asphalt and the concrete barriers. I can't begin to imagine what it was like when the US forces laid waste to them.
Thanks from Hollywood
