It as criminalized back then because the end of the alcohol prohibition meant the termination of all the prohibition goons. They kept the prohibition goons and made them narcs.

quite often marijuana is a gateway OUT of using other drugs. lots of people can only manage without opioids or amphetamines because they are able to smoke weed.
Thanks from imaginethat, RNG, Camelot and 1 others

You may be correct. But I hate Doctors. My dr banned me from there practice after going there my whole life, because I went there with out an appointment and just wanted some stitches removed.
They said I had to go back to the hospital that stitched me up. They have an automatic sliding door that I pushed as I left, because it opened to slowly. Me pushing the door caused the motor to burn out and catch fire. I had no idea this even happened. 10 days later when I tried to make an appointment, they said you have been banned and it is a police matter. Where is there duty of care???

I understand they did all that. But, they should see the writing on the wall. They are not going to keep cannabis from becoming legal.

they are close to succeeding at making another homeopathic herb illegal w/o even going through the democratic process. just a department of unelected government employees are making laws under the guise of public interest. i guess that they have the authority to pass laws that affect the entire population. i think big pharma has a bit of pull in Washington.
Thanks from Pilgrim

pharmas strategy might backfire. they are just doing what they always do. and sabcat is right, they have influence, legal cannabis might be a way off still.

It is already recreational legal in three states and I have no idea how many for medical use. The tide has turned, came in and floating the new way. Big pharma is just being a dinosaur that is sinking beneath the waves on this one.

The automatic sliding doors at the hospital I worked at used pneumatics and not motors. During cold days water in the pneumatic air made the doors move slow. There are limit switches in pneumatic sliding doors and if you jostled one of them could make the door stay open or stay shut. Only a minor switch adjustment after removing the cover plate. Unfortunately the sliding door led to ER and my shop was very close to it. My job was x-ray machine repair and the sliding door was thrust upon me because nobody else in the hospital knew how to fix the darned thing.

edit: I reread your question so there was a motor that burned up and caught fire. That motor obviously did not have an internal thermostat that opens the electric circuit before it can burn up. Sounds like an El Cheapo sliding door to me.
