Any problem with those regulations interfering with businesses that use horses?
What the hell are you talking about?

I use to get paid penalty time if we went on water hours/restriction. It is against USCG regs for a ship to use salt water in any part of the potable water system. Another difference between Merchant vessels and Naval

Are you trying to say that the stat stealing less money from a business the same as them giving money to another? Or the state saying that you are no longer allowed to make the product that you have been for the last 50 years or so but If you want to stay in business you can make the one that we like the same as them telling a different business that they can keep their profits?

Is that what you are trying to say?
I don't know WTF point you're making.

How is the Carrier deal not an example of government intervention into the "free" 'market?

And, if taxes are cut but expenditures aren't, who's gonna be tapped to make up the difference?

The German government is being criticized for intervening in their market. That's the anchor to the OP.

I say more power to them, btw.

Because it reduces the tax burden. That would be less government.

If you factor in the loss of over a thousand jobs, all of which are tax paying employees and the loss of tax revenue from the various vendors that support the factor, then whatever loss there might be is negligible to say the least compared to the loss of the factor just closing.
