I asked my 21 year old daughter what is the most important thing to every living human, and she said LOVE.
Thanks from Sabcat

We're not talking about what's most important to animals, but what's most important to a human being with a functioning brain.
Now YOU are muddling, since the functional brain was not part of your original question. You know you need to put that qualifier in since you realize how inherently important the functioning brain is.

We agree on the basis for existence, the question is: what's most important once we're involved in it? What's the most important thing to all living humans beings?

Knowledge.

Why?

Because even if you have a functioning brain, you'll die if you don't know how to survive.

We put the qualifier in there because you were hoping it would alter the answer to the question. It doesn't.

You have to know who to love and know why to love. Knowledge is the basis of love.

What is so important about survival? Is survival more important than character? Is it okay to lie, cheat, steal, or murder in order to survive?
Thanks from webguy4

Those are subjective questions with subjective answers. In an intellectual duel we're looking for objective questions that have definitive answers that are objectively true.

[QUOTE=Alipes;1058247]Hi, how are you? I hope good. You may have noticed that I recently joined this forum and began a discussion about a constitutional issue: HRC 2022 & the Article V Convention.

Some of the site heavies weighed in and of course some were snide/dismissive, but that's to be expected on the Internet and life in general. Doesn't bother me. The point is, some humans are oriented to discovering the objective truth of things, and some pride themselves on it. Back during the time of Voltaire, humans would verbally duel about what was most important and/or most interesting regarding all late available facts, and proudly claim superiority. We do much the same thing on sites like this.

What is the fun of an intellectual duel? To show who has a greater grasp of the objective truth. How do you have an intellectual duel? It's simple: A question is asked, and anyone can try and answer it. Or, you ask a question, and anyone else can try and answer it.

No one today dares refer to themselves as an intellectual, but we all are, at our own level, an intellectual. Some are heavier than others, true, but we can still have fun and show off what we know. Don't be afraid to be wrong, or say duh, I'm not. If you have time and feel like it, to start off the duel, answer the following question:

What is the most important thing to every living human being?[/QUOTE

...DTT Intellectual-able to back up a lie with ignorance...

Intellectual-able to back up a lie with ignorance.
Hi Polari. What's an example of that?

...Pick any post where the poster acts like they are 100% right including this one...You don't get to be an intellectual until you understand "we hardly know what we know...
