So, I'm also forced to seek food when I am hungry....should we demand that everyone buy "food insurance"?

I'm also forced to seek shelter when the environment gets too inclement...should everyone be forced to buy "shelter insurance"?

The car insurance you are forced to buy in order to drive a car is not there to protect you....it's there to protect the person you might injure while driving.

Government should not be in the business of protecting us from our own stupid decisions.

The higher premiums I've been forced to pay since I was 16 is to pay for the other guy that didn't meet his social obligation.
Thanks from RNG

I have been brought to a hospital against my will before.

Health insurance isn't health care, do you not know the difference?

Health insurance and healthcare are one in the same and indivisible. Try telling an uninsured person that they are not one in the same.

The solution then, is not to force everyone to buy insurance....but to do the same thing with anyone who can't afford to buy something....either they do without or they find someone willing to give it to them.

Here locally we have the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD) and children can get health care there regardless of the parent's ability to pay.

So no, health insurance DOES NOT equal health care.

Due to our very mortality, healthcare is not commerce subject to the Commerce Clause.
Our mortality has nothing to do with commerce, and that is not why the commerce clause was shot down by the court.

Go into any business in this country and tell them you don't have the ability to pay but you want their product or service anyway and see what you get. There is a Federal law that requires hospitals to administer care regardless of ability to pay. You can't say that of any other industry. The people, legislatures and courts have recognized the mortality distinction that separates healthcare from all other commerce. Is that not correct ?
