Don't Let The FCC Cover Up Facts

Give them a piece of your mind!

We own the airwaves

It is time we took back our airwaves.

Facts? I haven't read the link, but I'm assuming it is either about Bush or 9/11, or both. Which most 'sane' Americans do not see as facts.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

If that's what the link is about I'm not going to waste my time. I just wanted to know if the link was anything other than nutty conspiracy theories.

Don't even bother.

It's just a petition - based on simple-minded hype.

Lawyer says FCC destroyed study on media

By Associated Press | September 15, 2006

WASHINGTON -- The Federal Communications Commission ordered its staff to destroy all copies of a draft study that suggested greater concentration of media ownership would hurt local television news coverage, a former lawyer at the agency says.

The 2004 report came to light during the Senate confirmation hearing for FCC chairman Kevin Martin.

managers at the agency ordered that ``every last piece" of the report be destroyed. ``The whole project was just stopped -- end of discussion,"

... The conclusion is at odds with FCC arguments made when it voted in 2003 to increase the number of TV stations a company could own in a single market. It was part of a broader decision liberalizing ownership rules.
