"Being picky" would be pointing out that someone used the word effect when they obviously meant affect.

Normally your posts border on unreadable.

It clearly states in the Bible, no graven images but the Catholic Church has oodles of graven images in the sanctuary.

That's because the RCC does not follow the Bible as they claim

the book of the Apocalypse in the bible was changed to revelations.
the bible warns of changing words in the bible. that happend.
what i cant understand is why is there a religion section in
this forum with all the made up lies everyone posts in religion.
and why is aithest there when its dead set agenst all religions.
the catholic church is not a opinion or one of the many religions.
the many religions are those that left the catholic church and
made there own way. left the true church and degraded its sacraments.
its calld luke warm. the first 3 padges in the book of the Apocalypse
which is now renamed book of revelations explaines luke warm

Dusty, I don't want to take issue with your faith, but I do have a question. If as you say, "the Bible warns against changing words in the Bible," then wouldn't ANY man-made translation be a sacrilege?

Because the original Bible given to us by the Hebrew Prophets and by Jesus and his Disciples was not in Latin, but in Hebrew and Greek. Wouldn't that make the entire Vulgate (it's spelled with a "u" by the way) a human translation that changed the Bible from its original god-given words into a language that Jesus never spoke?
Thanks from imaginethat and Sabcat

I just borrowed this history clip from Wikipedia to show what I'm talking about.

"The Vulgate is a late fourth-century Latin translation of the Bible that became, during the 16th century, the Catholic Church's officially promulgated Latin version of the Bible.

Notice that it wasn't even officially accepted by the Catholic Church until 1,600 years after Christ. So neither Peter nor any of the Disciples knew anything about it.

The translation was largely the work of St. Jerome, who, in 382 AD, was commissioned by Pope Damasus I to revise the Vetus Latina ("Old Latin") collection of biblical texts in Latin then in use by the Church. Once published, it was widely adopted and eventually eclipsed the Vetus Latina and, by the 13th century, was known as the "versio vulgata" [1] (the "version commonly-used").

Notice the commission of the Pope to "revise" the Latin translation. That means to change the words.

Do you see the confusion I have with your post?
Thanks from imaginethat

Were not some of the scrolls from which the bible came written in Greek and some in Armenian?

I think you mean Aramaic, which is the street language of ancient Judea around the time of Christ. No, there may have been Aramaic renditions, but the original Old Testament works were written in Hebrew, and the the New Testament entirely in Greek. There WAS a Greek translation of the Old Testament, called the Septuagint, which is still in print today, and Paul made extensive use of it when reciting the words of the Prophets. But as far as I know, nothing in the original Bible was ever written in any other language.
