You backpedal and cower from your statements and claims like they're nothing worth defending.
And realistically, they aren't ...

This is what you backpedal onto...

If CNN demanded money in order to not publish the name, that could be arguably blackmailing. But nothing of the sort happened here.

CNN publishes identity information all the time. That's what news organizations do.
Does that somehow magically make them guilty of something?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
One of the surest signs that right-wingers recognize how absurd their thread tantrum is comes when they start derailing their own threads...
Like what you just did.
Dam, talk about waist of time. I actually read this nonsense.

General description of "blackmail" = Blackmail is gaining or attempting to gain anything of value or compelling another to act against such person's will, by threatening to communicate accusations or statements about any person that would subject such person or any other person to public ridicule, contempt or degradation.

The New York statute.

Quote:
In New York, there are two degrees for the crime of coercion (referred to as "extortion" in certain other states). The most basic form of the offense is second degree coercion, which occurs when a person compels another person to engage or refrain from engaging in lawful conduct by instilling a fear of:

...

Exposing a secret about the victim subjecting him or her to "hatred, contempt or ridicule";

...

Any other act calculated to harm the victim's health, safety, business, calling, career, financial condition, reputation or personal relationships.

Guess which one counts?

Whether or not he's minor is not the issue. The issue is CNN's attempt at blackmail. And if the guy is minor, the charges could get a whole lot more interesting.

None of you guys are interested in seeing this go to trial so quit b.s.-ing the situation.

The claim that he's a minor is completely fabricated. NO EVIDENCE has been shown of this. It's a claim made up (like soooo many other made up claims) which was created to try to make CNN look worse.

The right has this nasty tendency to claim "that's not the issue" to avoid addressing their lack of validation for their claim ...
... until a few posts later where they can simply repeat the same stupid claim that they still have no validation for.

There has been NO demonstration of CNN supposedly doing ANY of what has been accused.

NOBODY has shown CNN saying "apologize or else I publish your name" or anything even remotely resembling that.
Without that, this is all made up b.s.

You realize you're quoting a misdemeanor, right?

Please stop playing (?) the fool.
I said nothing whatsoever concerning his age in post #93.
You're becoming a trifle irritating.

I repeat, so call a cop.

Yeah, and?

Quote:
Second-degree coercion is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a sentence of up to 1 year in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, or both.
Add in conspiracy. Charges start mounting up. Of course New York won't do anything, but civil recourse remains.
Thanks from Jimmyb
