Trump is the latest wave of regression, but the progress that will survive him will provide a base for the next wave of progress that is beyond where we were when Obama took office.

Trump can make things unpleasant for trangender people who wish to serve in the military. But he can't roll back same sex marriage or openly gay service members.
He may yet succeed in rolling back some of ObamaCare, but there are parts of ObamaCare that would take 60 votes in the Senate to roll back.
And public opinion stands as a pretty impressive obstacle to whatever the GOP comes up with.
And while the next Democratic wave may not give the Party of the People 60 senate seats, nothing Trump and the GOP do get through will need 60 votes to roll back.

The back and forth has always been there, but the long term trend to progress has always been there too.

Like a carnival barker touting a two headed cow, once the crowd gets inside and can see the stitches where second head was sewn on, they are harder to fool the next time.

People still are hoping that Trump can deliver on his promises of good solid jobs, with benefits and high wages, and low health insurance premiums, and 4% growth and all the other stuff that Trump promised. In 2020, he'll promise all that crap again, but in 2020, we'll have watched him fail to deliver it for 4 years.

And that will fuel the next wave of progress.
He isn't off to a bad start. Over a million new jobs added since he took office, twice the job creation rate of last year. Economic growth is much stronger than that of the Obamaconomy last year. The national debt is actually down over $100 billion for the first six months of Trump while Obama added $1.4 trillion to the national debt last year. Coal exports are up 60%. Killing Obamacare will lower the cost of health care for every one in America. Exiting the Paris Accords was a good thing. Rolling back some of the job killing regs of the Obama Administration is a good thing. Reversing policies in the Middle East to overthrow the governments there which has destabilized the region is a good thing, and saves taxpayer cash. Forcing our NATO partners to pony up and pay their way is a good thing. Enforcing immigration laws is a good thing. Removing the race baiters from White House and DOJ has improved things.

I think Gandhi had it right, "I like your Christ, but not your Christians."

"Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

Excuse me, but what is it about Christians that gets your feathers ruffled? The difference is, I am not celebrating my sin. I am a sinner, saved by grace, and i do not flaunt my sin in Gods face I ask for forgiveness, and repent. These mentally ill people say hey thanks for creation, and salvation, but you got me wrong, because they have have become their own God

You are bigoted toward any person who doesn't think exactly like you, especially Christians.
