No, I'm afraid that Captain Jack Sparrow is not a real person. Sorry.
Johnny Depp, the actor is real enough.

Did you know that John Wayne did not particularly like horses and that for every cigarette you smoke God takes a minute of your life and gives it to Keith Richards?

Yeah, I love that Jefferson quote to.
Hey man, I can smoke. I am tough. I have black boots and black clothes and I smoke. I have also gone looking for a fight. Old age has taught me a different meaning of tough. Between my youth and old age, I decided going to work every day and getting my job done, is also being tough. Strutting my stuff in black clothes, preferably black leather, smoking and risk-taking are for the young, and no longer my idea of being tough.

Indeed, clothing has nothing to do with being tough. That's just people trying to LOOK tough according to the fashion of Hollywood, video games, etc.

Go one on one with Jet Li or Jackie Chan while either is wearing black leather and you get your ass kicked.
If they are wearing a pink prom dress you STILL get your ass kicked.
Thanks from RNG

I'm tougher now than I ever was younger.

I can walk up and down stairs and all over midtown Manhattan with almost unbearable arthritic pain in both knees and in the lower back.

I also have had a gun for the past twenty years, which I never would have owned when I was younger.

So I have more mental strength and power - and more fire power - than I did when I was younger.

Admittedly, my physical being had more impact three decades ago :P
Thanks from Athena

Oh, oh how about Patrick Swayze in "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything". Have you seen the show? When Patrick Swayze, as a drag queen, cold cocks a cop and then cold cocks an abusive husband, it is hilarious.

Hey guys, you want to see how much better women can be? Lyzza should get a black belt for her mouth. That's right guys, I get it. Who wants to be talked to like this? Women are more apt to use their mouths without thinking than their fist, and sometimes the damage they do can be even worse.

Athena, you are so full of it i dont even know where to start. You are throwing around your half-witted opinions as if they are some kind of natural fact handed down by ancient spirits or some nonsense. You know why you cant find those easy links to your "easy" issues? Because they are bullshit, pure and simple....

Okay, are you married? In our later years, the traditional roles can be problematic. It can become very hard for the wife to take care of everything as she once did, and the increasing needs of a failing husband, but when people are stuck in the traditional roles, they may have a terrible time adjusting to their changed reality. Often it is the woman's fault because she feels insecure if he starts doing what she thinks is "her job". A man who can get her get past her reluctance to accept help is a really good guy.

My home is a mess as I keep waiting for a day when I feel better. Good weather is coming, but I don't know if I can wait that long before getting control of the clutter? I may just have to pay for help. But the grandchildren who are not adults, can use the money, so it is all good.

If you dont like me or my views, fine. I dont have a problem with you, its some of the things you have been posting lately that gets to me. Keep it to the conversations in those threads, please......

I hate it when people use words I don't understand. Makes me feel so stupid. What is NAP. I don't think you are talking about the short sleep many of us enjoy in the afternoon.

This thread is about the ideal man so this is the time to say what is really good about some men. I love a man who stays cool and simply holds his ground. I am jealous of men because when I try to get the fighting guys to calm down they just ignore me, but when the man in charge walks into the room, they immediately calm down.

There is a huge and important difference between our peacekeepers and the police. Some policemen can be peacekeepers, but many only know getting control by being intimidating and they became police officers because they like being controlling and intimidating. However, trying to have control by being intimidating can escalate the problem. On the other hand, we have peacekeepers separate from the police department, and these folks de-escalate the situation. It is beautiful to watch them in action. The peacekeepers are thinking people using their minds to de-escalate the situation. That is very different from relying on a show of force.

That is being very hard on yourself. Nobody can know everything. I like running into words and terms i have never heard. Try and learn something new every day. Keeps things interesting.

The non-aggression principle (or NAP; also called the non-aggression axiom, the anti-coercion, zero aggression principle or non-initiation of force) is an ethical stance that asserts that aggression is inherently wrong. In this context, "aggression" is defined as initiating or threatening any forcible interference with an individual or individual's property.[1]

In contrast to pacifism, the non-aggression principle does not forbid forceful defense. The non-aggression principle is considered by some to be a defining principle of natural-rights libertarianism.[2][3][4][5]

Sorry, Athena but you've crossed a line by calling out Lyzza and RNG. THIS is an opinion and discussion site. You can state your opinion but so can Lyzza or anyone else and everyone on THIS particular site better have thick skin because thin-skinned posters don't last long on DTT. I warned you about that.

No matter how many times you post it or how many ways you state it, some of us DO NOT agree with you and no amount of posting is going to change that.

"I am not sure you know enough to disagree with me?" AND....

"Lyzza should get a black belt for her mouth. That's right guys, I get it. Who wants to be talked to like this? Women are more apt to use their mouths without thinking than their fist, and sometimes the damage they do can be even worse."

Pot meet kettle.
Thanks from Lyzza

Yes, I'm married - but I'm gay, so we're both guys. We solved the housekeeping issues years and years ago.

A housekeeper.
Thanks from Athena and Clara007
