No, you'd make a good Jew, but Christian? I don't see your displaying the character of Jesus of Nazareth.

Impressive, but the your credibility and that of your statement is dependent on your providing evidence that Jesus was not referencing and correcting Leviticus.

The personality some who call themselves Christian present to the world could not be farther from the person Jesus Christ as described in the Bible. Often, these folks point out that being a Christian doesn't make one perfect. I understand that, but it should at least make a difference.

Many who self-describe as Christian are some of the most unloving, judgmental and unforgiving people I've met, always reminding people of how good they are and how you are headed to eternal hell, which you deserve.

IT, you are so right. "most unloving, judgmental and unforgiving"......and this is why our young people and others have moved away from Christianity. We have become so hypocritical. We talk the talk, but do not walk the walk. It is so easy to preach and so very difficult to be a role model.
We just had this scripture in church yesterday. One of my faves:
Matthew 25: 40-45 (NIV)
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Exactly, I don't see much of the teachings of Jesus in organized religion. today's churches seem to be moving further and further away.

I just talked to a friend I had not had contact with in a few months. She had mentioned in a facebook post some months ago that her sister had died. Now this person is pretty close to what I'd call a real Christian. I had no idea the pain she felt when her sister died.

Turns out the sister was in all likelyhood a lesbian. They used the word Tomboy. But coming from a devout family and living in Africa she was unable to be herself. So she drank and often used drugs and rarely if ever had any sort of relationships. Now her parents never threw her out or openly judged her. But the rest of the family, including my friend, did. They often asked the parents why they hadn't toss her out. Between the stress, the alcohol and the drugs she had a massive heart attack at the ripe old age of 49 and died sitting in a little club somewhere.

What my friend said to me was she realizes now just how UNCHRISTIAN she had been towards her sister. That she can't go back and tell her she's sorry caused her considerable pain. She also said she has no doubt her sister is waiting in heaven, and she only hopes and prays Jesus will forgive her for her unwillingness to simply love her sister just as she was. My friend isn't perfect but she's trying and certainly taking the lesson to heart.

I'm not particularly religious, and what few beliefs I do have aren't Christian. Yet we've been friends for a decade now and they thank God for bringing me into their lives. She flat said the other day they wouldn't be citizens, have a nice home and a successful business were it not for me. I don't feel like I did very much. But apparently they see my advice, council and helping with some paperwork as a vital step on their journey to (not to sound cliche') achieving the American dream.

I guess we truly never know when even the smallest act can change the world for someone else. How ironic they view me, an agnostic pagan, as one of God's gifts to them. I see the real teachings of Jesus in that.

But in mainstream Christianity, we have people who literally throw their children into the streets for being gay, or even just getting pregnant. I don't see any religion in that.

And yet, these same people are the ones SO TERRIFIED of Sharia law. They don't realize they are trying to impose their own Christian version of Sharia on this country.

Somehow the fact that we cannot judge sin as sin has been lost through the misinterpretation of what we should not judge means. Anyone who preaches that if you keep sinning, and do not repent, and is still going to be saved, is doing the work of the Prince of this world. Jesus did not tell the adulteress to go and do it again if it feels good, He told her to go and sin no more. The same is said to a man healed at the Poll of Bethesda:

“See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” John 5:14.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Uh no, YOUR credibility would hinge on YOU presenting evidence that Jesus WAS "referencing and correcting Leviticus."

The Bible definitely teaches that the unborn are persons because the unborn possess personal attributes, are described by personal pronouns, Jesus is called a child at conception, the unborn are called children, are protected by the same punishment as for adults, are called by God before birth, and are known personally by God just like any other person. Since abortion is murdering a person, abortion is morally wrong (Gen. 9:6; Rom. 1:28-29).
fail .
All the shit except leviticus is after and after the fact misrepresentation.
Leviticus is a set of rules for a certain sect of Jews long before the invention of Christianity.
Jesus doesn't say jack shit about it.
