Oldest joke/story in the world. Only thing that ever changes is the name of the ship and the nation where the lighthouse is located.
Still funny, but old.

Interdiction means:
1 the action of prohibiting or forbidding something: the interdiction of the slave trade.

2 the action of intercepting and preventing the movement of a prohibited commodity or person: the interdiction of arms shipments | [as modifier] : drug interdiction operations.

Military the action of impeding an enemy force, especially by bombing lines of communication or supply: battlefield air interdiction | air, ground, and naval interdictions.
Hacking or jamming is being considered by the Navy.

One official explanation for for the collision was "a steering failure," however, no account is given as to why backup systems didn't engage. As well, steering control was regained afterwards.

Another theory is the USS McCain had the right of way.

I'm a little shocked you immediately go to crew member negligence.

But what makes it SOO funny, is that it's utterly believable. The BEST humor always contains an element of truth or believably.

Fine, if you don't like the use of interdiction, then use whatever word you are comfortable with. The truth remains, after the first couple of collisions, protocol should have been re-emphasized in an effort to prevent further unnecessary deaths. I don't see how you can argue with that logic. They crew was at fault by definition.

The last line is supposed to read" There are only three of us here, and we are totally unarmed, but this is a lighthouse. Your call."
