House Speaker John Boehner's decision to skip the White House state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao, following his declining to join President Barack Obama aboard Air Force One last week, has again raised the question of whether the two political leaders are having trouble getting along.<br clear="all" />

Imo, Boehner, though probably a nice guy, stands for everything wrong with the Republican Party, though his manner is somewhat genteel.

However, Boehner and his ilk shared in making political decisions that led to 2007-2008. It wasn't all their fault, but they had a hand in it, while they deny any responsibility and blame the Democrats. In turn, the Democrats deny responsibility and blame the Republicans. In the American political system, it's pretty traditional that in power or out of power, each party blames the other for all of America's ills.

The political tides rise and fall, but overall neither party when in power seems to have much success in reversing America's tailspin.
