House Republicans say the $4 billion they plan to cut over the next two weeks is just the start. Over the next seven months, they aim to carve out more than $60 billion from domestic spending. They say that will boost confidence in the economy and encourage job creation. But some economists warn such cuts would be the wrong medicine for a still frail recovery.
