Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich partly blamed his passionate work on behalf for the country for his past personal indiscretions. It's a novel and creative explanation meant to appeal to the social conservatives, including born-again Christians, so important in Republican primaries and caucuses.

Oh, I see. Being immersed in your job makes it okay for you to be unfaithful to you spouse? That is an acceptable excuse for infidelity now? I'm sure that his patriotism was a conmforting thought for his second wife who got the divorce papers while she was in the hospital battling cancer.

The other interpretation is that when Newt is happy in his marriage, he hates America.

Amazing how, for fanatical 'Christians', they're sins are ALWAYS someone else's fault!

So buddy cheats on his first wife, and then divorces his her whilst she was recovering from cancer treatments in the hospital. That alone would doom anyone else on a Presidential run. Afterwards, Mr. Newton cheats on his second wife with his future third whilst bitching at President Clinton for getting a blowjob from an intern. And all of that was because he just loves his country. Ladies, he's not an adulterous swine, just a better patriot than you. Stay classy Mr. Speaker

This is what the Republicans are giving me on a platter for 2012, beautiful. He's a smart guy, no doubt at all; but, Newton has far too many moments of herp-a-derp that cannot be ignored, almost a multiple personality disorder with this guy. One minute he's writing a thinker's editorial, the next he's calling the President an anti-colonial socialist whilst wrapping the flag around his dick. Sometimes it's all within the same pontification.

Imagine if it were Barack Obama doing the same and then ran for President, he'd be fried without mercy by the Republicans, even worse so than with the made-up shit.

GINGRICH: There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate. And what I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them.

Surely if Newt became President he would be working too hard to help his country yet again. Would this increase the chances of him being unfaithful to his third wife and beginning a relationship with #4?

I think his current wife should be very wary of Newt's Presidential ambitions. After the first and second divorces, every subesquent divorce becomes easier and much less of a hassle.

If a man cannot keep his oath to his wife (wives) why should anyone believe he will keep his oath to uphold the Constitution?

Bottom line - Newt has no chance
