I was listening to a sports talk show host yesterday and he made an interesting point which stuck with me. Somehow he got onto NY Mayor Bloomberg’s decree about banning large sodas in the city. In short, he said

“I support Mayor Bloomberg’s mandate not because I believe in a big, heavy handed government. But you people came out and said you wanted ObamaCare. OK, if that’s what you want then fine. Just understand it changes the ground rules. Before I didn’t really care if you decide to eat too much or live an unhealthy lifestyle. That was your decision and you had to pay for it yourself.

But now that I’m paying for it things change. If I’m paying for the results of your decisions then I should have a say in those decisions, and that’s why I support the Mayor.”

Sounds like another low information voter who has no idea how Obamacare actually makes people pay for themselves, instead of the rest of us paying for those who can afford coverage but choose not to buy it and then don't pay their bills when they are in an accident or have an unexpected illness.

Will somebody please explain to me how a perfectly functioning human brain can be tricked into believing up is down, black is white, poor is rich and the sky is green with pink polk-a-dots?

Because there it is. Just read the quote above again and that doesn’t boggle the mind nothing will.

You tell me. It is you that seems to think that it is a bad thing that people take responsibility for their financial obligations instead of making everyone else pay for them.

Since I’m paying for your health care now, we need to make a few slight alterations to your lifestyle. But don’t worry, it’s for your own good.
  • Coffee Is Banned – we all know coffee does more harm to the system than soft drinks
  • History Classes Will Be Replaced By Mandatory PE – since today’s history classes only teach lies and since we have an obesity problem, history gets the hook and jumping jacks take its place.
  • Cell Phones Are Banned – studies show cell phones are causing more and more traffic deaths due to their use while driving.
  • Bicycles Are Banned – we’ve been having too many accidents of bone against metal lately so in the interest of public health bicycles are now illegal to own.
  • Microsoft Is Now Controlled By Me – I don’t know how many times I’ve been channel surfing during supper and stumbled across MSNBC while trying to eat. This disrupts my digestive tract which can lead to increased doctor’s visits. Instead of spewing hate, the channel will now show reruns of the Andy Griffith Show, All In The Family, Texas Hoggers, and American Pickers.
  • Bacon Is Now Mandatory With Every Meal – ‘nuff said.
  • Vegetarians Are Forced Into Work Camps – it’s obvious vegetarians are sick most of the time and get that orange-ish color to their skin. We’ll round them all up and put them in work camps where they can make solar panels. Kind of killing two birds with this one. We’ll not only compete with the Chinese on solar panels but we’ll also get restaurant menus that are easier to read.

And I’m just getting started. “As determined by the Secretary” will take on a whole new meaning.

I have health coverage and pay for it myself beyond my employer's contribution. You aren't paying or anything of mine.

But you are paying for the health coverage of those who can afford to buy it and don't and then run up medical bills and don't pay them.

Don't care to address this Heritage Foundation ideology huh? I understand. It blows you fallacious arguments out of the water.

A perfectly functioning human brain can't be tricked. So infer what you want from that statement.
