And why not? They are the ones that have benefited over the last few decades. They are the ones that have exponentiated their income. Not me, not mine. *

It's all funny numbers Kate.

*

Long ago, if you were unemployed you were simply counted as unemployed.* But that made politicians look bad on occasion so they changed the rules.

*

They started classifying workers by putting us in different slots.* One slot was called “discouraged worker”, a person that was “marginally attached to the workforce”.* Then they declared this group separate from what they termed employable.

*

Wiki

*

CNBC Article

*

It works like this.* During the boom times full employment is considered to be achieved when only 2% of the workforce is unemployed.* The easiest way to look at it is to assume there are only 100 people in the country.** 100 People . . . 2 are unemployed = 2% unemployment rate

*

In a recession, you might have 10 people unemployed.* 100 People . . . 10 are unemployed = 10% unemployment rate

*

But us peons tend to revolt when we’re at 10% unemployment rate so they changed the rules.* They started counting those who had given up looking for work as mentioned above.* The trick to this calculation is the method by which they determine who has given up.* Turns out, they make random phone calls to the unemployed and come up with their best guess at what overall percentage has given up.* They can’t count them all, so they make enough phone calls to satisfy their curiosity, then extrapolate.

*

So let’s go back to the old way of counting.* 100 People . . . 10 are unemployed = 10% unemployment rate

*

If they determine 3 out of the 10 have given up, they just toss them out the window.* The new calculation looks like this: *97 People . . . 7 are unemployed = 7.2% unemployment rate

*

Ah, that looks much better now.* Us peons won’t revolt over a 7% unemployment rate.

So how many were employed? How many new businesses opened up? If you insist on listing, list the whole story. please.*
</blockquote>

122,000 WERE EMPLOYED* for THEMONTH OF NOVEMBER... 1,700,000 LOST THEIR JOBS..**1,821,000 WERE MOVED FROM UNEMPLOYED to discouraged worker status..**

*

So what happned**1,200,000 lost their jobs..**1,800,000 THAT WANT JOBS GAVE UP LOOKING for jobs.*

*

by moving 1.8 million to DISCOURAGED the unemployment rate saw a nominal gain.* if the 1.8 MILLION* HAD NOT BEEN RECLASSIFIED, the unemploment would have rose to 8.9%* instead of 7.8%

Good grief! 'moved from unemployed to discouraged?' I have to question this heavily! Tell me, do they mark a tally in a box that says, 'oh screw it! i give up!' *It's so ridiculous that i don't know what to say.</blockquote>

This is how the demographics are being screwed with. Team Obama at work, Kate...

That is how they ceated the illusion of the "Recovery Summer"

<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(255,0,0);">"Among the marginally attached, there were 979,000 discouraged workers in November, little

changed from a year earlier. (These data are not seasonally adjusted.) Discouraged workers

are persons not currently looking for work because they believe no jobs are available for

them. The remaining 1.5 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in November"** what is 1,500,000 + 979,000* That is the RECOVERY..***2,800,000 people no longer count..* because* OBAMA WANTS YOU TO THINK everything is OKEY DOKEY.** (THIS IS ONLY 1 MONTH)** APRIL of this year they moved 2,700,000..*** to discouraed** That is why we have 6,000,000 fewer people working today than in 2008...**** but unemployment has declined..*

*

Ah, that looks much better now.* Us peons won’t revolt over a 7% unemployment rate.</blockquote>

exactly that has been the* source of the "Obama Recovery" for 4 years
