Start buying non-GMO today. Help us stop the genetic engineering of our food supply.

Why isnít the FDA protecting us?

In 1992, the Food and Drug Administration claimed they had no information showing that GM foods were substantially different from conventionally grown foods.

Therefore they were safe to eat, and absolutely no safety studies were required. But internal memos made public by a lawsuit reveal that their position was staged by political appointees who were under orders from the White House to promote GMOs. In addition, the FDA official in charge of creating this policy was Michael Taylor, the former attorney for Monsanto,
the largest biotech company, and later their vice president.

The Pure Food and Drug Act of June 30, 1906 is a United States federal law that provided federal inspection of meat products and forbade the manufacture, sale, or transportation of adulterated food products and poisonous patent medicines.[1] The Act arose due to public education and exposes from Muckrakers such as Upton Sinclair and Samuel Hopkins Adams, social activist Florence Kelley, researcher Harvey W. Wiley, and President Theodore Roosevelt.

Too bad for those that live in areas where only GM crops will feed them...

There is no doubt that a fresh, organic, naturally-accomodated garden is best for anyone. But it's not possible. There are too many of us. Gaia can only carry so many in a defined ecosystem...then She comes up with a solution. Some times this means culling a fair few of us in one way or another...

But...

Seeing as Monsanto is a human innovation...I mean, let's face it...GM technology wasn't possible all that long ago...so MAYBE human's newest capacities ARE all part and parcel of Gaia's plan???

Hunter-Gatherer societies soon found that certain foraged items "grew better on the sunny side of the hill"...so they began moving seedlings to "the sunny side of the hill". Isn't that Ogg's attempt at forming the first "Monsanto"???

When capitalism arrived in Ukraine it arrived abruptly. The old state-controlled distribution systems were disbanded literally overnight, but the capitalist systems weren't there to fill the gap. And when they did arrive, inflation made what food was on the shelves damned expensive.

However, nobody starved. In Ukraine, growing food isn't a hobby. This culture has seen hardship people in the West only read about. Growing food is a part of the culture, and the food people grew kept people alive.

When I drive through any city neighborhood, I see a lot of time, effort and money going into growing grass that's put in plastic bags and sent to the landfill. If people can grow grass, they can grow food. Yes, it is possible. Only laziness prevents many people from growing a goodly portion of their food.

As for Monsanto, running interference for Monsanto means one of two things: Either, a person doesn't know the evil wrought by Monsanto, or he or she just doesn't care for the environment and future generations.

"Evil" is a powerful word that rarely applies to humans or human endeavors. Monsanto has earned the title "Evil."

Even if robots did this...who made the robots??? Sure, it's easy to blame a corporation...which is really a bunch of paperwork, anyway. Fairies run Monsanto, didn't ya know?
