FOX news host falls for fake news story.

FOX host Anna Koolman reported that President Obama offered to, "pay out of his own pocket" to keep a museum of Muslim Culture open while reporting on a story on how the WWII Memorial had been closed due to the government shutdown.

The story was first "reported" on the website NATIONAL REPORT a satirical website in the same vein as THE ONION

I wonder how many of the people that called for the firing of Dan Rather over his reporting of GW Bush's National Guard service will now call for Koolman's ouster? (or how many that defended Rather are now going to defend Koolman?)

FOX has never been a news agency. They're the propaganda arm of a Party that wishes to subjugate the American people to the interests of wealthy interests.

I don't think Fox is considered to be the end all in news coverage. But as far as presenting both sides of the issue they are leaps and bounds ahead of their competition. I've tried watching their competition and almost never do they even attempt to give an opposing view.

This isn't a question about whether or not Fox is balanced or if they are the end all of news, I'm asking about reactions to the report. Why were some calling for the head of Dan Rather but those same are now speaking volumes with their silence now?

New York Times Falls for Onion Article of Obama Singing in the Shower for a Tiger Beat

Quote:
This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:
Correction: April 24, 2011

A series of pictures last Sunday of covers of the magazine Tiger Beat, with an article about how the original teen-girl tabloid has remained virtually unchanged since its inception in 1965, erroneously included a parody cover, produced by the satiric newspaper The Onion, that featured a picture of President Obama.

Rachel Maddow Falls for Satire of Palin

Quote:
Gov. Palin needs to speak out publicly and forcibly for an American-led invasion of Egypt to protect our interest in North Africa. "As the largest recipient of foreign aid next to Israel, the U.S. has a tremendous investment in keeping Egypt stable and relatively terrorist free. Upon her direction, other western nations are sure to join us.
Paul Krugman Falls for Satire Story About Paul Ryan Calling Romney Stench

Quote:
'If Stench calls, take a message,' Ryan supposedly had been telling aides. 'Tell Stench I’m having finger sandwiches with Peggy Noonan and will text him later,' Simon quoted Ryan as saying.
Washington Post Falls for Satire Article About Sarah Palin

As you all know, I’m not a big fan of newspapers, journalists, news anchors and the liberal media in general. But I met with the folks at Al-Jazeera and they told me they reach millions of devoutly religious people who don’t watch CBS or CNN. That tells me they don’t have a liberal bias.

That is because you cannot distinguish between the news and the opinion shows such as Hannity. Pretty common for ideologues.

This was not an opinion show. This comment was made during a report about the government shutdown.

But even if it were an opinion show the statement was made as a FACT. Would it being an opinion show somehow mitigate that this on air personality spread a lie
Thanks from poet and Camelot
