Pretty much all of them to one degree or another. But what Obimbo did was state the he would have the most transparent administration in history. Not only did he lie, he drew attention to the lack of transparency within this government in general. The government is the biggest SCAM in this country. Pay to play is the byword in Washington. Transparency is the LAST thing they want.

Honest question, I'm a ferriner and am have only developed my politics obsession recently, have other presidents promised "the most transparent administration ever" as Obama did?

Many of the guys I know who voted for him the first time are bitter about this and the whole "hope and change" thing.

It was almost the entire platform. Red flag in my opinion. An extremely hard lesson in Washington for the general public I feel most for the college age voters who were so over the previous administrations half truths and felt that they may have actually had a horse in the race.

The problem is Obama ran as antithesis of Bush, and I think it was all advertising with no intention or substance.

I don't recall transparency ever being a platform.

There was a time when the press did their vetting and kept a president honest to a degree. There was always a little bias in the press, but subtle. The bias has been creeping for a while. You could start to catch t progressing during the later part of the Vietnam war.

It is the courts that have allowed this to happen.

Obama Details Promises for Transparency - ProPublica

Yesterday, we looked at President-elect Obama’s stance on transparency. As we noted, Obama’s record on the issue isn’t spotless, but he did make promises during the campaign to run a far more transparent presidency. This morning, Obama’s transition Web site, change.gov, offered some details on “using cutting-edge technologies” to create “a new level of transparency, accountability and participation for America’s citizens.” *
