Thumbs up With Age Comes Wisdom....

....Unless, of course, you're the typical-"conservative"....who more-often-than-not retire to "swimming" in a bottle o' Scotch.

CHANGE!!!

"In my late 50s, at a time of life when most people are supposed to be drifting into a cautious conservatism, I am surprised to find myself moving steadily leftward.

This is unexpected. It comes even as I am financially comfortable and enjoying my work. (Iím writing this from my summer home in Maine.) Iím not a natural progressiveóI spent the last quarter century covering the U.S. military, first for the Wall Street Journal and then for the Washington Post, and now for Foreign Policy magazine. I have written five books about the Marines, the Army and our wars.

I am puzzled by this late-middle-age politicization. During the time I was a newspaper reporter, I didnít participate in elections, because I didnít want to vote for, or against, the people I covered. Mentally, I was a detached centrist. Today I remain oriented to the free market and in favor of a strong national defense, so I have hardly become a radical socialist.

But since leaving newspapers, I have again and again found myself shifting to the left in major areas such as foreign policy and domestic economic policy. I wonder whether others of my generation are similarly pausing, poking up their heads from their workplaces and wondering just what happened to this country over the last 15 years, and what do to about it.

The things that are pushed me leftward began with the experience of closely watching our national security establishment for decades. But they donít end there."

What happened to this country the last 15 years this person asks? We lurched to the left, first under GW, and then at full speed ahead under El Jefe. Dunderhead.

Crony capitalism isn't real capitalism, indeed under Obama it is more like an American Fascism mixed with the Marxism Obama worships.

The last time things were tilted against the working class this badly was in the early 20th century. All the wrong lessons were learned resulting in the 16th and 1tth amendments, and the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve is a pusher, providing Wall Street with constant funds for how many years at virtually zero interest cost. Thus the bubble that is Wall Street. A complete dissociation from economic reality. None of that is helped by Dodd-Frank, which is a prop to failed banks on the back of the People. And Obama is all aboard for this.

I have criticized GW many, many times on DTT.

Fact is, and I have stated this more than once, I never voted for GW.
