They do. It's just that the government is basically a self-inflicted Chinese fire drill (with apologies to the Chinese) and the Iraqi army is the only one in the world I know of that surrenders quicker than the Italian army used to. Which is self-inflicted too.
Thanks from Tony

Today's news;

Isis leader Baghdadi threats Erdogan the president of Turkey and wants him to obey Isis. He said "Erdogan is a secular president and behaves contradictory to sharia laws, soon you will face directly with the sons of Islam, he have to obey me urgently"

So if your hypothesis is correct about the correct proportions between being islamic and developed, does Turkey refutes it ?

i hope your hypocricy is now obvious. turkey does do better than other islamic countries because it doesnt follow islam. but now the caliph is going to make him, and turkey will either have to wage perpetual jihad or get dragged back to the 7th century.

Now is a defining moment for Muslims and Islam.

Can centuries' old enmities be put aside to face something, ISIS, that the world seldom sees?

Consummate evil.

I defy you or anyone to say one good word about ISIS. In a world filled with shades of grey, ISIS is black.

And frankly, ISIS is none of our business. Islam must rise to cut out this cancer. If a strong, united Islamic front utterly opposing ISIS fails to emerge, some of the worst accusations leveled at Muslims evidently are true.

So no more US airstrikes against ISIS and no more US meddling in the Middle East?

unfortunately, it looks like its going the other way. open support for ISIS is easier to find than condemnation, among muslims.

Islamic State Supporters Visible Across Europe

In an article titled "ISIS's Black Flags Are Flying in Europe,” the Daily Beast commented that the Islamic State’s European “message was one tailored to the disaffected young descendants of Muslim immigrants in Europe”.

Increased visibility of support shows an increased boldness in the adherents of its radical doctrine.

Holland is not the only country in Europe to have witnessed support for the Islamic State. At a pro-Palestinian demonstration in London last week, the black flag of jihad was flown, as demonstrators blocked traffic by stopping their cars in a traffic tunnel, waving jihadi flags and chanting.

it would be easier to just intervene by holding the borders and stopping it spreading. and i mean the borders of the middle east, not just the caliphate, quarantine the islamic world. anyone in the west who supports the caliphate can be given a free one way ticket there.
