U.N. Official Makes Candid Admission

U.N. Official Reveals Real Reason Behind Global Warming Scare - Investors.com

Quote:

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.
"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said.
Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added:
"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history."
The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

Figueres is perhaps the perfect person for the job of transforming "the economic development model" because she's really never seen it work. "If you look at Ms. Figueres' Wikipedia page," notes Cato economist Dan Mitchell: Making the world look at their right hand while they choke developed economies with their left.
As predicted, it is all about control of the people.

This is supposed to be breaking news ? Transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy would be a huge shift in the economic model by which the world has prescribed to for the past 150 years. That's what you've been bitching about. The only thing that I find surprising is that a certain denier thinks that's news......LOL

Pure capitalism has two serious flaws.

It leads naturally to monopolies.

It requires the population to continuously expand.

Camelot cannot help but troll, perhaps his CPA business isn't busy at what should be their busiest time of year? Camelot is, however, more than willing to sell his birthright to the U.N.

The OP is far more about "fossil fuels", far more and that is obvious to any with eyes to see, as she makes no mention of them, but does mention economics. Where she says "economic development". Yeah, the U.N. in charge of our "economic development", what could possibly go wrong.

How would Boston and all its denizens be doing this winter without "fossil fuels", but instead relying on wind or solar?

As the author of the OP notes:

So shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy over the next 100 years won't be a change from the economic model of the last 150 years ? Oooooooooo......o.k.........LOL

100 years? Yeah, that is what the U.N. and the climate liars are aiming for? And I can get you a bridge in Brooklyn, and for cheap.

Try reading with other than your: "All I care about are elections" brain.

Who cares, that's merely someone's opinion. We will transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy and capitalism will find new opportunity. You thought you were exposing a belief that none of us on our side of renewable energy would deny in the first place. Good work Einstein......BLAH HA HA HA HA
