‘I’ve Had It With This Self-Righteous, Delusional Wing of the Party’

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) blasted the conservative wing of his own party on Friday, calling them “delusional” amid the internal battle over a contentious bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security.

Some conservatives want to ensure funding for President Barack Obama’s immigration action is stripped from the final bill, while other Republicans, like King, say DHS funding is too important to tie it to a political fight.

“We have a wing within our party that is obsessed with the president’s executive order, or his executive action on immigration,” King told MSNBC before the House first voted down the short-term DHS funding bill. “I oppose that order too, that action by the president, as far as amnesty. But the bottom line is, we have to keep this in perspective. It’s much more important for us to keep Americans alive.”

Hey ditz, there is no funding in the bill. There is no funding at all, which makes the Republicans look even more stupid than they already do.

But if there's little downside for Republicans in letting USCIS go unfunded, there's no downside for Democrats whatsoever. Here's the problem: the overwhelming majority of USCIS isn't funded by Congress. The agency is almost entirely self-funded. It runs off the fees that immigrants pay when they submit applications to get or renew legal status (or deferred action), or to become citizens.

That's why Republicans haven't been able to straightforwardly "defund" Obama's executive actions through the budget: they weren't funding them to begin with. And they aren't funding most of the rest of the agency, either.

On the other hand, as the current shutdown fight shows, there's a very important silver lining for USCIS in being fee-funded: it's insulated from the whims of politics. Green-card holders who want to become citizens won't have to rest their hopes on whether Democrats and Republicans can work something out over the president's executive actions to protect unauthorized immigrants. And that's a good thing.

Nope, sorry.

Last month, the House passed a DHS spending bill after adding amendments that would derail the president's immigration actions. Senate Democrats blocked the House-passed bill four times this month because they opposed the immigration riders

Once the funding bill reached the full Senate, it could be approved with only a simple majority — rolling back the amnesty orders — and sending it to President Barack Obama for his signature.

Obama has threatened to veto any legislation that seeks to roll back his unilateral actions. The orders would grant deportation deferrals and work permits to as many as five million illegals.

Homeland Security's funding would lapse Feb. 27 without action — and only personnel related to critical national security efforts would be allowed to work.

So your answer to someone trying to get the DHS Bill passed is the crap you posted, and I bet you think that shows how your stand is built upon such a sane premise. In other words: Screw the Nation and blame it on others. Noted

As I have shown, the needed aspects of DHS remain intact.

What doesn't get funded is only the amnesty bullshit.

I fully understand that you never step outside of your Leftwing sources....perhaps you should?

And You know full well that if the Bill was only about funding DHS the Bill would have sailed through Congress and been signed by the President by now. Attaching crap that has noting to do with funding DHS know it would not pass and then claiming it is Neo-Cons and Dems that are the problem points out the problem alright, it just isn't the problem You seem to think it is. Thankfully the uber-right will never run this Nation, far too many Americans see them for what they are and will never allow it. Enjoy
Thanks from Camelot
