Ron Johnson Thinks Wisconsinites Who Have Obamacare Are Moochers

Sen. Ron Johnson thinks Wisconsinites who have Obamacare insurance are*moochers

Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin speaking at CPAC 2011 in Washington, D.C.

Dumb as a box of rocks or a bag of hammers?

One of 2016's most vulnerable Republican senators, who also happens to be one of the Senate's dumbest, is worried about how the Supreme Court might be hurting his chances for re-election if they rule for the plaintiffs in the challenge against Obamacare subsidies for people buying insurance on the federal exchange.

Mind you, Wisconsin's Ron Johnson doesn't give a fig for the 185,000 Wisconsinites who might lose their health insurance. He worries that Democrats will use it politically to make Republicans look bad, as expressed in this radio interview.

JOHNSON: Unfortunately, President Obama's response to an adverse decision—in other words one that actually follows the law—would be really simple. Just a one-sentence bill allowing people’s subsidies to flow to federal exchanges and/or offer the governors, 'Hey, we know you got those federal exchanges. Just sign the bottom line. We'll make those established by the state.' And of course, he'll have the ads all racked up with the individuals that have benefited from Obamacare on the backs of the American taxpayer. He'll have all those examples as well so. ...

WEBER: And the sad sack stories about who's dying from what and why they can’t get their coverage.

JOHNSON: Right.

WEBER: Oh yeah.

Note that the thought of people dying without coverage isn't what bothers him, it's that those stories will be used against Republicans.

Note, too, that he thinks that the millions who have health insurance because of the subsidies "have benefited from Obamacare on the backs of the American taxpayer."

Guess what, Einstein? The people benefitting from Obamacare are American taxpayers!

Nearly half of them are employed full time. Another 35 percent work part-time. All of them pay taxes.

That's 185,000 people in Wisconsin. And those 185,000 people probably wouldn't like to find out that you think they're moochers, Sen. Johnson.

And he is correct, 99% of those who gained coverage from the ACA are now on the government teat, taxpayers are paying for their health care.

Uh wrong. Try reading the article again, a little slower this time. 99% of those who have coverage pay premiums through private plans.

This issue is a big loser for you. It's going to be a big loser for Johnson too.

If Obamacare stays in tact as is. You lose.

If Obamacare subsidies through the federal exchange are struck down by SCOTUS. 10 million people lose coverage, and you lose.

You're in the proverbial no win situation.

That is another ACA lie. There is no such thing as a "private" plan on the exchange. I know, because I have used one of the private plans. I needed health insurance for a short period of no more than three months. Instead of doing the smart thing and just going 3 months without or picking up a cheap major casualty type plan(sorry the fed made those illegal), I bought one off the exchange. Ended up I only needed it for a month. I attempted to cancel it by calling the private insurer, blue cross an blue shield. I was told, sorry we can not cancel or modify any plans, you have to go through the fed. Even though I used no tax credits and paid 100% of the three month premium cost. The fed REFUSED to let me cancel. The only way I got out of it was I just did not pay the premium when it came due at the end of the 90 day period. Then the fed called me over and over and even threatened me with the tax penalty. Even though I kept telling them at each call I have insurance through an employer. So, ANYONE that tells you that purchasing a plan off the exchange is between you and the private insure is WRONG OR LYING. Had I just paid for a plan from a private insurer, I could have got a two month refund.
I cant wait until we republicans fix this leftard fuckery

90% of the people who buy on the federal exchange receive government/taxpayer subsidies. The tens of millions that receive Medicaid from the ACA are 100% on health care welfare.

Medicaid recipients are the largest abusers of ERs. Obamacare put millions more on Medicaid. So we pay either way.
