and let's not forget this part of our pledge of allegiance--I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

ever look at our currency??

seems to me that indicates we are a Christian nation.
What does that mean, why is Obama's had on the bible when he's sworn in? Is that TRULY a lame attempt to pretend our nation is a Christian nation?

Geeze; you can't have a discussion on anything cuz you really lack the knowledge to do so.

We are a secular nation; where EVERYONE has freedom of religion. Elect an Islamic follower, a Hindu, a pagan, a Wiccan and find out what other books are used.

Barbara Walters Decries Presidents Swearing Oath on Bible

Quote:
You see it again and again," Walters said during the show which focuses on a panel of five female co-hosts who discuss social and political issues. "You don't have to use a Bible. Teddy Roosevelt didn't. John Quincy Adams swore on a law book and Lyndon Johnson took the oath on a book he thought was the Bible. We don't know what the book was ... We talk about the separation between church and state and almost every president ends up saying so help me God."

Even the President has a right to his freedom of religion. He's not stating Christianity is the rule, now, however.

Nope. The U.S. is a representative republic which has a predominately Christian population, that's all.
There is NO REQUIREMENT that the President take his oath of office by swearing on a Bible. it is merely a custom.

The narrative that the passengers on the Mayflower and then the arrival of the Puritans were to escape religious persecution is a myth. They left because they believed the Church of England was corrupt in its dogma. They came here to set up a theocracy and they succeeded.

If you checked your rhetoric, you would not get this responses.

I have answered this many times here, and re-runs are boring. If you need a tutorial, research my posts.

Oh gee, I'm sorry. No one told me I was supposed to browse through your 25,000 plus posts to check and see if you have answered a specific question previously. Please find it in your heart to forgive me.
Guess there is just no point in your posting here any longer, I'm sure that in over 25,000 posts you have, at some point in time, answered just about every conceivable question.
Thanks from RNG and Sabcat

EXACTLY !!!! Were we a "Christian nation" they would have ONLY protected Christianity. All other religions would be outlawed, kinda like they do in the middle east !!!
Thanks from LongWinded
