No, it is a secular nation. If it WERE a Christian nation,we would have NO Islam, Judaisn, Buddhism Hinduism, Wiccan, pagan, etc. practiced here and the founding fathers would have established it when they gave us the constitution.

I don't hate Christianity. I hate the Christian reconstruction movement of the Born again "Republican Jesus" NIV god of the rich evangelists.

We are a nation with lots of Christians, but we are NOT a "Christian nation". While most of the founding fathers believed in God and maybe Jesus, they weren't all seriously devout. Some openly express disdain for organized religion. No doubt the constitution and our laws maybe have been influenced by those beliefs. But, our laws are not vetted through a religious council. They are not certified as being biblical in nature. We are not told when or where we must attend church. We are not told which religions we can or can't practice. Your preacher can't have you arrested for your "sins". (unless your sin is stealing from the church of course). The police won't come to your house or business and make go to church. Other religions aren't outlawed, though there are a lot of evangelicals that think they should be. Our history is certainly influenced by Christianity both good and bad. But we are not a "Christian" nation.

That comment was an insult to anyone who has any knowlage about philosophy, the Socratic method or just the general way conversations are carried out. You clearly have lost it. If its infectious please visit as many fundamentalist events that you can on Sunday.

Thanks in advance.

"define religion"

[ri-lij-uh n]

Examples
Word Origin

noun
1.
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Quote:
Atheism is not a belief system nor is it a religion. While there are some religions that are atheistic (certain sects of Buddhism, for example), that does not mean that atheism is a religion. Two commonly used retorts to the nonsense that atheism is a religion are: 1) If atheism is a religion then bald is a hair color, and 2) If atheism is a religion then health is a disease. A new one introduced in 2012 by Bill Maher is, "If atheism is a religion, then abstinence is a sexual position."

The only common thread that ties all atheists together is a lack of belief in gods and supernatural beings. Some of the best debates we have ever had have been with fellow atheists. This is because atheists do not have a common belief system, sacred scripture or atheist Pope. This means atheists often disagree on many issues and ideas. Atheists come in a variety of shapes, colors, beliefs, convictions, and backgrounds. We are as unique as our fingerprints.
What is Atheism? | American Atheists

There's no rabbit hole. Atheism is not a religion.

It isn't a Socratic philosophic method. It is taught for other applications. You are clearly out of your league.
