America's Views Align Surprisingly Well With Those of "Socialist" Bernie Sanders So

So what does that make us?

America's Views Align Surprisingly Well With Those of "Socialist" Bernie Sanders | Mother Jones

Quote:
. . .

socialism

Sanders: Describes himself as a democratic socialist.

His fellow Americans: While only 31 percent of Americans react positively to the word "socialism," just 50 percent view "capitalism" in favorable terms, according to a recent Pew survey. Among 18- to 29-year-olds, nearly half had a positive view of "socialism," while only 47 percent viewed "capitalism" favorably.

income Taxes

Sanders: Famously filibustered the 2010 extension of Bush tax cuts for wealthy Americans.

His fellow Americans: In a February poll, 68 percent of likely voters said wealthy households pay too little in federal taxes.

. . .
America is tired of the capitalism that runs over the working American and veteran. We are turning our back on worshiping the rich.

I wonder how many of the parents of the 40% of the Millennials that are still living at home are being supported by their capitalists parents? If an adult has to live with their mommy and daddy it could be safely assumed that they are in favor of socialism.
Thanks from caconservative and Sabcat

So the wealthy, who are paying the bulk of the taxes, aren't paying enough? Could it be, the PIG (government) and the entitlement-parasites have become Corporate leeches?

They aren't paying a fair share. They get MORE welfare than they pay into the system. They PAY republicans to DESTROY government programs to give THEM more tax cuts and breaks and outright welfare checks through more Military equipment. They don't pay the bulk of the taxes. They get to take more than they give.

What is a fair share? Tax breaks from what, the entitlement parasites who feed off of others, or that other parasite called the Federal government that feeds off of business? Corporations are called "people" because they are owned by stock holders in the thousands. If Corporations are not paying the bulk of the tax-burden, who is?

What is a fair share of the total tax revenue collected?

Name one welfare benefit that the rich receive?

Produce a copy of one of these "outright welfare checks."

Explain how paying 68% of all taxes is not the bulk of taxes.

Tax according to Eisenhower's percentages when we built highways and when the rich were far richer than the rest, but the middle class was the largest group and raised families, and made our economy number one in the world.

You don't want to be number one in the world as an economic leader?

That sounds like a good idea. Let's use the Eisenhower tax method of an effective tax rate of 1/3 of the marginal tax rate.

Quoting a tax rate without context is meaningless. What was taxed at that time and what exemptions were there? I have heard, without seeing strong justification, that effective tax rates for the rich at that time was in fact lower due to the larger numbers of legal loopholes.

I disagree with the premise of the article. I believe the American people are ignorant of what's going on in politics today. I think they should feel the way the article insinuates but they don't know enough to know the truth. As much as the far Left wing refuses to face reality, the midterms supported the fact that this country has a Center-Right leaning. In time demographics will change that but, as it stands, Bernie Sanders will be viewed as a radical by all but the far Left.
