Government intrusion into the personal lives of women to decide for them what pregnancies they will have, when they will have them and by whom, making these women in texas no more than the cattle breed stock the ranchers own is certainly not surprising to be found in Texas. Texas is one of the most anti-women right's states in the nation.
Republicans are the party of big government.

Here's what it will lead to. For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. A scientific law of physics the fringe fundies can't escape, try as they might.

This opens a whole new market, a multi billion dollar market, for abortion medications that will become available online, as well as through private practice doctors, and clinics that they can't pass legislation to stop. It will also create a black market for these drugs, while illegal, won't be able to be stopped, anymore than any other illicit drugs they have failed to stop. Thus leading to more abortions, as well as higher healthcare costs overall for Texas Medicade recipients.

It is also a political loser for them in the future as the Millennial generation does not share their fringe fundamentalist views.

The fringe fundies are in a no win situation. The Supreme Court just accelerated the state of Texas turning blue faster than it would have. As more districts in the state start electing more young politicians who are pro choice, and a lot of them Hispanics, it will eventually pit the white rednecks in the state against the church as their interests start to clash more and more.

If that has to be explained to you, you wouldn't get it anyway.

Stay tuned, it will become painfully clear to you sooner than you might be comfortable with.

There will be two other results, neither of which are good for the state. The rich and middle class who want an abortion will just do the medical tourist bit. I love when a northern state tightens abortion laws. More money pouring into Canada.

And the birthrate of inner city poor will increase, putting a greater strain on already stressed social services.

Lose - lose.

I had not considered that, but it is true enough.

Unlike you jimmy, i'm a big picture thinker. I deduce what this will lead to 5, 10, 20, 30 years down the road.

I remember very well in the 80's when states were passing draconian drug laws to kiss Ronald Reagans ass at every turn in the road. Mr. zero tolerance policy himself.

I marvel at how today many of those same conservatives now decry zero tolerance policies in schools that are a direct result of those laws.

And where are we today? Marijuana legal in many states, and school districts rethinking those zero tolerance policies.

That's what's known as an epic failure of the Reagan administration.

Guess what's going to happen over that same time frame regarding all of these state anti choice laws?

You right wingers just don't get it. These kinds of big government restrictions is like another hit of heroin to a junkie.

Get ready for another bout of rehab.
