Just because Baby Boomers WANT SS to continue doesn't mean that it's going to continue.

I'm sure that a person drowning WANTS to continue breathing...reality may have something different in mind.

Basic mathematics. People 60 and up generally die off quicker then 14 and up. As the baby boomers die off their voting base diminishes as the younger voting base (that already out numbers the baby boomers) grows. So.....

The Baby Boom generation began in 1946. That means that the oldest Baby Boomer is 69 years old or 4 years past the 65 year qualifying age. Given the increases in longevity now and increasing in the near future, you're going to have to live many years to see the end of SS. And as you said, people at that age die earlier than 14 year olds, you included.

Oh, I understand math alright. Today, the strongest voting bloc in this country are the current seniors. The Baby Boom generation dwarfs them in size. That's political mathematics you can count on.

One demographic is steadily on the decline as one rapidly increases. I don't understand stand why you are laughing at yourself. It's cute though.

Perhaps you are the one that needs a math tutor. The Baby Boom generation includes people born between 1946 - 1962. That makes the oldest 69 today and the youngest 53. This generation dwarfs the current senior generation and the life expectancy will be around 80 years of age. Trust the math, you will have to live many decades before the Baby Boom generation loses it's political muscle. Live long and prosper.
