Boehner's Departure Won't Make Congress Better, But It Could Make It Worse

Boehner's Departure Won't Make Congress Better, But It Could Make It Worse

Quote:
New problems will arise, however, once he’s gone. Boehner’s resignation, brought on by the increasing turmoil within his conference, leaves the conservative faction of his party brimming with excitement at the prospect of pursuing what they see as purer, more conservative goals.

“If the House Freedom Caucus wanted to move the chamber a little further to the right, this was a necessary step,” said Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), a member of the conservative caucus that put Boehner on notice in recent weeks, warning that his future depended on whether he would force through a must-pass bill including a provision that would defund Planned Parenthood.

“I think one of the reasons you saw the pressure on John to leave was John had allowed Congress to become irrelevant,” Mulvaney added, capturing the frustration among the 50 or so conservative members within the party. “John was fighting the 21st century battles with 1990 tools.”
The radical right will kill the party. When the pope leaves, his message still stays. People are against war. People are against not taxing the rich. People are against the lack of economic opportunity with the monopolies we have.

The radical right can come out swinging and the right wing upper 1% can fund all the money they want, but hatred and divisiveness and worshiping the rich is over. Long live the new age of liberal/progressive/and kindness, tolerance and love values.

I take the counter intuitive approach. Let them make Louis Gohmert the Speaker. Let them burn down the House once and for all. Like drug addicts and alcoholics, the American people won't realize that they have a sick disease until they hit rock bottom. The next year could prove to be very, very good for Democrats.

Indeed. Republicans will fix a lot of things and Democrats will have a better country to live in.

The Republicans still don't have 60 votes in the Senate or a Republican president. You must be clueless in Austrailia.

Yep, this is payback from Boehner to the tea party nutjobs in the House and Senate. He know's full well that those rodents are now going to expose themselves in a way that will cost them national elections for a long time to come. It will cost them House seats. Hell, it's already costing them House seats, and will hand the Senate back over to the Democrats, and the Presidency is all but assured for them at this point.

What would make it complete is if he shows up on innauguration day to congratulate the new President. It will make the tea nuts homocidal.
Thanks from Camelot and LongWinded
