Comey Should Resign

“The best service Mr. Comey can render his country now is to resign,” its editors wrote Thursday. "Failing that, [Sen.] Jeff Sessions [R-Ala.] should invite him for a meeting after he is confirmed as Attorney General and ask him to resign."
“If Mr. Comey declines, Donald Trump can and should fire him in the best interests of the nation’s most important law enforcement agency.”
Wall Street Journal: Comey should resign | TheHill

With no consistency and no credibility, a Comey-led FBI is a shadow of itself. The fine men and women serving in the bureau deserve better.
A nation of laws requires competent leadership at its top law enforcement investigative agency. Mr. Comey has demonstrated he doesn’t have that to offer. Regardless of of which candidate becomes the 45th president, Mr. Comey must go.
FBI Director James Comey should resign - Washington Times

“Why didn’t Comey wait until after the election to tell Congress — or at least wait until agents had a chance to review the emails?” Cohen wrote on Oct. 31, adding that Comey’s July comments on Clinton’s legal-but-risky use of the server were “prejudicial and inappropriate.” “Comey has a responsibility to ignore politics in this case. Instead he’s allowed it to dictate his actions.”

Mortimer Zuckerman, the chairman and editor-in-chief of U.S. News and World Report, expressed similar frustration with Comey’s comments in his written call for the FBI director to step down.
“It smelled somewhat of appeasement: We don’t like giving this verdict, so we will add a little smear for the benefit of those who have been clamoring to lock her up,” Zuckerman wrote, arguing that a “self-righteous” Comey “served his country badly.”

I concur. Mr. Comey, step down. You're done.

Self Righteous. Served country badly.

Those have been the main catch phrases for Republicans for the last 100 years.

Comey epitomizes it as well as any example you could use.

There was nothing righteous the way Republicans attacked Clinton.

It was the very definition of sleaze. From some of the sleaziest dirtbags on the planet.

No reason Comey should resign. The person who should be under investigation is Loretta Lynch and it should not be ignored that she met privately with Slick Willy, on the plane. Why did they meet? What did she agree to do or not do? She's an Obama "plant' and he sure wanted "his" legacy to go on, with a Hillary win.

They praised him...until Trump won the election. They are trying to find anyone, any thing to blame for the fact their policies were soundly rejected. Hillary was the chosen one. All ready to do as they told her to, as the Black Caucus told her to do and to pay back all the favors done to help her.

Goodpen is correct. Dems praised Comey to the skies UNTIL he made a public statement right before the election. The timeline went like this:
In July he announced he was not indicting Mrs. Clinton but described her behavior as “extremely careless”; the letter to Congress in late October in which he said that newly discovered emails could potentially change the outcome of the F.B.I.’s investigation; and the letter three days before the election in which he said that he was closing it again.

It was shocking to say the least. The FBI is supposed to be a bipartisan--politically unbiased--bureau. Comey broke with protocol. He made a what-could-be-construed as a political statement which Dems perceived as a fatal blow to Clinton's campaign. It remains a complete mystery why Director Comey decided, completely on his own, to modify the job that the FBI was supposed to do. That mystery needs to be solved. Comey HAD TO KNOW that his actions would eventually (or at least possibly) be his undoing.
IMHO, it is now COMEY who was 'extremely careless'.

Ok.

I think that them not bringing on charges before the election was the correct move.

If the state starts to just indict a candidates before elections they are basiclly choosing the winner. I do not feel that their statments that you are referring to are like that, but that's just an opinion. I never wanted charges to come before the election but I did want the information available to the people. I wanted the election to act as a jury.

That being said I could care less what happens to that fool.

Comey was darling of the Democrats when he provided a means for Hillary to get off the hook. What happened? If Comey's is being asked to resign, the same should be asked of Lynch.
