| Do you think Trump can trust Pence?
Trump, after all, is a Washington outsider. He ran on a platform portraying him as being an anti-establishment populist - but now he has to work with these same people. Pence meanwhile, has a concrete power base. He represents the Christian right. Does no one else suspect that this union might prove quite unsteady? Ignore for a moment that he's the President - as a man, as a human being, Trump does not really embody what a lot of the Christian right look for in a leader. He's a New Yorker for one, sexually promiscuous and perhaps even involved in deviant and unnatural practices if that prostitution story has any merit to it. It just doesn't seem like a very happy alliance. And even with the overt religiosity of his inauguration, the hardcore Christian sects within the Republicans must be unhappy hitching their wagon to someone so diametrically opposed to their values. |

Trump chose Pence for exactly the reasons you stated above. Pence is everything Trump is not. Pence has a moral compass and is Trump's front man. That being said, Pence wants to be president too, which is why he signed on, so he's not exactly a humble man with little or no ambition. Trump is Pence's gravy train ticket and he will continue to apologize...errr....explain what Trump REALLY means when he blabs something inappropriate. Maybe we should call Pence the Trump Interpreter??

Remember, the VP position is a great stepping stone to the presidency. And one factor in this election I thought was significant and no one else seems to have noted is that with both candidates in their 70th year or so, will they even be able to run again in 2020? I'd guess not. So Pence is getting himself a three year jump on the next presidential election. |

He's one of those that believes his personal religious beliefs outweigh my God given and constitutionally guaranteed rights.
