Here is a fact: It is not a crime for Flynn to have lied to the FBI denying that he spoke to the Russians or any other denial that was a lie.

Thats complete bull. Lol. Of course, look at the source. Flynn lied about talking to Russia about easing sanctions, on the very day that sanctions were imposed on Russia for interfering on our elections. That looks like payback for helping Trump win the election. And when you are questioned by the FBI and you lie, it is in fact, a felony. No matter what bullshit jimmyb tries to peddle here.

As a matter of fact, factually speaking, it is not a felony for Flynn to have lied to the FBI regarding his speaking to Russia and not one liberal can produce one law to substantiate their argument. Repeating something from a left-wing fake news site is not an argument.

So far every thing you said is a lie or at best a twisted truth. Go for it, tells us about Hillary's lies.

Do you believe that they are actually resigning "to spend more time with their family"?

The reasons given for a resignation are rarely the actual reasons for the resignation.
When someone resigns a month into a job, it's because they fucked up.
And this fuck up revolved around telling the Russians not to worry about sanctions, that was an Obama thing, and Trump knows which side the bread is buttered on.
Now if there was nothing wrong with that, why did Flynn tell Pence he did no such thing?

Now we all know the real reason Flynn resigned, because he got caught doing this shit, if no one had found out, it would all be fine.
But he got caught, because he was stupid enough to forget that contacts with foreign governments are monitored.
And the Trump administration is a leaky ship, because it's run by incompetents, and there are no secrets that can be kept by an incompetent amateur crew, all jockeying for position.
Little jimmyb really is that stupid and is that partisan.

Federal law prohibits making a false statement to the United States government. Lying to a federal agent is a criminal offense with serious penalties.

The law against making a false statement to an agent of the federal government is 18 USC 1001. The statute says it is against the law to knowingly and willfully make any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation concerning in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative or judicial branch of the United States. The sentence for this crime can be 5 years in federal prison.

In addition to the prohibition against lying to a federal agent, there are laws against making a false statement in a loan application.

Making a false statement on a loan application is a federal offense if the loan is backed by federal financing. See 18 USC 1014. For example, signing an application for a Federal Housing Authority (FHA) mortgage that contains a false statement, or knowingly overvaluing collateral assets is a crime. The penalty for this offense can be a maximum fine of $1,000,000 and 30 years in prison.

Where no specific statute can be used to prosecute a false statement, the United States Attorney will use 18 USC 1001 to prosecute the defendant. This is general, catch-all provision for false statements. It applies to a suspect who lies during questioning by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as any other type of false statement. The statute provides:

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully—

(1) falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;

(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or

(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;

See 18 USC 1001.

The sentencing guidelines for the false statement offense indicate a penalty of 5 years in prison and a fine. However, where international or domestic terrorism is involved, the sentence can be 8 years imprisonment.

Additionally, where the false statement is made by a person deliberately to avoid registering as a sex offender, the penalty is also increased to 8 years prison.

Tagged as: 18 USC 1001, 18 USC 1014, bank fraud, false statement, false statement prosecution, Federal Bureau of Investigation, loan application, mortgage, mortgage application, mortgage fraud, sex offender

That is not how the DOJ handles denials that are lies under 18 USC 1001.

So thanks to just released information we know for a fact that the Øbama administration knew from the first that the Bengahzi attack was a planned attack. Yet Øbama, and his factotums, lied for two weeks to the American people about the attack.

Flynn had every right as the incoming National Security Adviser to talk to any foreign nation. Where was the ranting when candidate Øbama went on his foreign policy tour in 2008. Hypocrites, hypocrites who attack a man like Flynn who spent his life in defense of the nation.

I am still waiting for one of these liberals to produce the actual DOJ's position and case law regarding Flynn's denial to the FBI being prosecutable and their work-around of the exclusionary rule.
