Gen. Hal Moore died yesterday.

Geneneral Hal Moore commanded the 1/7 Cavalry in the first major battle of the Vietnam War in Nov. 1965, we lost 243 men in the four day battle.

How many did the enemy lose during the extended battle? When I was there the kill ratio was 3:1 and before I was there the kill ration was 10:1.

Off topic but John Glenn's birth home is not going to put on the national historic register. John Glenn was a decorated fighter pilot in Korea, the first American to orbit the Earth and retired as a Senator of the United States before he died.

I saw an interview of him years after that battle and he still teared up and mourned the 243 that died in that fight. Vets who were in that fight say the movie was an accurate depiction of the actual fight.
