Wonder Who The Slimeballs Are Behind The Pro Gorsuch TV Ads?
For those who are wondering who's behind those ads we keep seeing on CNN and MSNBC promoting confirmation of Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court Justice, the organization paying for them is the secretive JCN (Judicial Crisis Network) formerly the Judicial Confirmation Network.
Formed in 2005 by the Koch brothers, the leadership has passed to other ultra right wing conservatives such as Gary Marx and Ann Corkery who have been successful in their efforts to replace a great number of State Attorney Generals with republican nominees due to massive donations to their campaigns.
More recently in 2015 they spent 7 figures to persuade republicans in the House to refuse confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland so that the republicans could steal the seat if #45 won the election. They were also behind the statements by republicans who said that if Hillary won they would delay confirmation for an additional 4 years if necessary.
This newest ad campaign promoting Gorsuch, which is slated to spend 10 million dollars is targeting districts where democratic senators are up for reelection soon, in hopes of encouraging pressure from constituents on their senators to confirm Gorsuch, due to lies in the ad claiming massive bi-partisan support. They are also behind the effort to contact senators up for reelection in 2018, issuing warnings that their reelection is in danger if they don't confirm Gorsuch.
The Judicial Crisis Network is spending at least $10 million targeting Senate Democrats running for reelection in Trump states over Gorsuch's nomination. The anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List will hold events outside the home offices of Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly, North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, Montana Sen. Jon Tester and Florida Sen. Bill Nelson this week.
"According to exit polls more than one fifth of voters had the court in mind when they went to the ballot box in November. Those voters overwhelmingly supported President Trump," said Mallory Quigley, a spokeswoman for SBA List. "Any senator who attempts to block this highly qualified nominee will face political consequences."
I encourage everyone to contact CNN at (404) 827-1500 or Feedback CNN - Videos, Pictures, and News - CNN.com leaving an email voicing your displeasure at the airing of this deceptive ad. Also contact MSNBC with the same message at (212) 664-4444, or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org
Let them know that you don't appreciate seeing deceptive ads on supposedly progressive stations. Here is an article from Politico that talks a bit about JCN and it's methods.

Mind you, a particularly cynical lawyer I know described judges here where they are appointed as being the persons (m/f) who among their colleagues were most adept at sucking political cock at the requisite time.
