really where ? it appears you have an issue with holding more than one thought in your head at a time .

intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.
Ron white is the best you could do?

Most teachers I know say that they wish the government would get out and allow them to return the standards they know work. California didn't go from being in the top five school systems in the nation to the bottom five for no reason. We watched the school system in this state lower its standards in direct response to the number of illegal alien students entering our school system. The vast amount of time and money taken from the legal students has had a profound detrimental affect on our overall educational standards.
Betsy Davos is a threat to our public education system. There is a chance that she may have an effect on our public schools system that has produced international rankings of 35th in math, 23rd in reading, and 24th in science.

Did you actually read what I wrote?? Where in my post did I even hint at defending public schools? I objectively presented several reasons WHY homeschooling is growing in popularity AND your take is that I'm defending public schools?
I may be a lot of things but NAIVE isn't one of them. I spent 40 years in the public and private school system so don't even pretend to know what goes on in the halls and classrooms. Don't you think I watched the state, the administrators, the parents and the board take over?? Don't you think I fought like HELL for my kids--for their right to the best education possible? Do you think that educators just sat idly by and said "OH well"?? I went to board meeting after board meeting. I marched on the capital building. I called my lawmakers. I wrote grants, bought my kid's lunches and supplies, organized fund raisers/bake sales/carnivals/concerts.....whatever I could think of. AND I wasn't alone. Every other teacher did the same thing. I turned in deadbeat parents and watched one being taken off in cuffs after the beating she gave her daughter. I confiscated pills, marijuana, booze in Snapple bottles......you get the point. So don't call me naive. I KNOW ALL the perils and mistakes of public education and yet I wouldn't have chosen any other venue for my own children, because public education is LIFE---messy, crazy, problematic but LIFE nonetheless. Public schools prepare kids for the real world--for real jobs--for real competition. Our schools may be far from perfect but I will continue to support them until I take my last breath.

Children are forced into public schools. Most don't have the money for any other choice. Vouchers give low-income families more high-quality school options. But Democrats don't want that. You get people leaving public schools and going for alternate learning institutions..(charter schools, private schools etc.) Make schools competitive.
Democrats oppose school choice. They want women to be able to kill their unborn babies helped by taxpayer money...but oppose allowing parents to decide where they want to send their children for school. Good education provides a ticket to the middle class..for the poor. And Democrats don't want this to happen. They want people depending on the government ignorant and needy. They want to mold minds...towards humanism, liberalism. THEY WANT VOTES. Liberals tell us how racist America is...yet they don't help those stuck in our failing schools...particularly big inner city schools. You look at the biggest cities in America...who is running them. Democrats.

Actually teachers unions support segregation because they deny a way out of these schools to kids that could go other places.

Let me also throw a line out there..that liberals told me when Obama took office. It was such a mess when Trump took over..it will take time. LOL

Can the mental disease of the LEFT ever be fixed?
whats wrong with a public school

That may be because of religious leanings or because they simply want to spend more time with their children. Some parents are disturbed by many of the behavior issues (by other students) which obviously impact their well-behaved children and take time away from learning. The homeschool families I know feel that public schools waste a lot of time--walking from class to class, listening to announcements, taking attendance, fire drills, etc. Homeschool families feel they can cover more academics in a shorter time and include field trips to musical events, museums, national parks or places like botanical gardens.
Today there are homeschool networks so children can participate in organized sports, choirs/band/orchestra, and even clubs like chess or science. There are curriculums/standards available online which makes lesson planning easier. Since socializing with others (outside the family) is important the new networks have made that more easily accessible.
Homeschooling can be a great thing for families who are able to pull it off AND connect with other families to share the resources....but obviously not every parent is equipped educationally or financially to succeed. Homeschooling high school students seems to be the most challenging due to the lack of chemistry labs, language teachers and higher math classes, but at that point many parents decide to send their children to a public high school as prep for college.
I have not met many "home schooled" kids but the few I have met had no social skills and could not compete academically with public schooled kids.i think if home schooling is going to be allowed there should be some kind of independent testing every year to assure the students are progressing at the same level as their public or charter school peers.
